Sea fairies POV-

I walked inside the cafe, the cozy feeling pooling in my stomach. I sighed in content, walked up to the counter.
"Hello! How may I help you?"
Her dark purple curly hair sparkled in the light.
"Oh, I was just looking to get a latte."
My cheeks held a deep blush as I thought of the barista. She was truly a sight, I sighed in contentment as she quickly wrote something down onto the cup. She then tried to turn around, coffee in hand, she tripped falling on the counter. coffee spilling onto the surface and soaking our clothes.
"Oh my! I'm so very sorry. Let me make you a new one, on me, really!" She quickly piped up, her face a beet red.
"I'd appreciate that, let me help you." I continued to grab the cup in which she shrieked,
"D'ah! Don't.. don't take the cup."
She looked pale in the face.
I hummed in confusion which then turned to shock as the cup was snatched out of my hands.
"I'm so sorry!"
she yelped. It truly, was a disaster. By now many pairs of eyes were fixated on the scene continuing to go down at the counter.
"Oh- uhm yeah no it's alright." To say she was frazzled, was a understatement. I stared at her as she quickly went to throw away the now drenched cup. I squinted, as much as I could as I saw a few numbers displayed onto the cup.

Was it her number? Was that why she was so desperate to take the cup? If so.. she must've been embarrassed at the fact she completely messed up. If anything, I found it cute, I mean really. A cute barista, trying to make a move onto some girl they fell in love with eventually legitimately falling in front her. If only tropes such as these were truly in real life..

Moonlights POV-

How am I supposed to come out after that?! I fell for some girl and quite literally fell like.. in-front of her. Gosh, how could I make such a move now? My number spelled on the cup practically radiated embarrassment.
No way I could give her my phone number now.
You win some, you lose some they say.
Except I always seem to lose.
I quietly groaned, I couldn't hide here forever, I still had to serve her, clean up the mess and well, continue my shift. This had to be the worst day ever.

I walked out of the back and held a gentle smile. "Uh.. You can go sit down. I'll be right back with you."
"Alright, I appreciate everything."
Why though? Wasn't it my job? Besides everything was, in reality my fault.
I only nodded as a response, in turn she walked away, settling at a table not too far from here.
I snapped out of it, I wasn't payed just to watch from afar.
Perhaps I'd give her a free pastry, she did really deserve it.. I soiled her outfit.
I started to clean, anxiousness building up as I think about how annoyed she must be with me. How she could be late to something highly important. I was just fortunate enough that nobody else continued to step into the small cafe.

I walked up to the girl, coffee in hand along with a 'Sorry cupcake' and yeah.. It did really say those exact words in frosting.
"Hm? Oh! You are too kind... Thank you!"
She gleamed.
"I uh, yeah I am sorry.. It was a total accident."
I stared down at my feet, completely ignoring what the people around me always told me - 'To make a meaningful apology, look into their eyes'
Or something like that.
"It's completely alright, your hospitality has earned the most gratitude from me. Now, how much do I owe?"
How do I tell her I payed for it? It's not like I could just.. search that up in-front of her.
"Oh uh, it's already taken care of."
She stared up, her cheeks dusted with red.
"You really didn't have to! Let me tip you! I insist."
"Only if you find it within reason."
She had no reason to see it as mandatory, no pressure.
"Of course, here. You are real sweet y'know that? I appreciate it, you made my day."
I blushed, as if my face was on fire.
I waved bye for, I was star struck and that's all I was truly able to do.
I counted to see just how much she tipped, except, white paper stopped me in my tracks as it was wedged between the money.
A number was displayed on the paper, a few words at the bottom saying,
'Call me! <3' .
It only took those two words and plus a heart, to truly shape my future - no, our future. Perhaps I did win some.
