Lora POV
"I'm such a horrible mate!" Louise quietly said. "I didn't deserve such a nice guy like him."
It was now almost ten o'clock and I came in here at six. For four straight hours Louise and I cried, but her tears were stronger than mine. She cried for her lost love, while I cried for my dead brother. Our shirts were soaked with tears, making them stick to our skin, but I ignored the uncomfortableness of it.
"Don't say that," I whispered. "You were worth it. Believe me Lou, he wouldn't have died for just anyone."
She slowly nodded. "But still, the guilt that lives inside me because I was the reason he died is...unbearable."
I hugged her tighter. We've done this a lot in the past few years. If anything, the hell we've been through made us closer and more trusting toward each other. We cried a lot, laughed a lot, fought a lot, and all together we've never abandoned the other.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door and Jason walked in. His eyes held pity and sadness for us as he saw the two of us wet girls clinging to each other. Gosh that could sound really bad...
"Go away!" Louise snarled.
He didn't flinch, but his eyes met mine and we stared at each other for a moment before he spoke.
"You girls are strange," he stated, closing the door and standing in the room. He walked over to us and sat on the end of the bed. "You're crying over nothing."
"Don't you dare say this is nothing!" Louise shouted, suddenly becoming angry. "You don't know what we've been through nor know why we're upset!"
He sighed. "I don't need to know to be able to see you're both hurt."
Louise and I stared at him in surprise. What's he talking about?
"I can easily see something bad has happened, but whatever it was, it's over. You're both here with us, and our pack, and we will love you just like family."
My eyes started watering again. The thought of having a family again made me feel happy and overjoyed. Sure Jason was no dad or Peter, nor mom, but I'm sure someone here could be like them.
Lou looked ready to cry too, but she held her strong mask up and didn't let another tear fall.
"Come on, you need to have some fun today," Jason smiled, standing up and pulling me up with him.
"What?" I asked confused.
He smiled. "Follow me."

Jason, Lou and I were just walking around the yard. Lou and I were confused as to how Jason thought this was fun, but I was having plenty of fun holding Jason's hand as we walked. His palm was so warm and big, and it held my hand perfectly. I knew my face was red, but people would think it was from the crying, not me blushing.
"Where are we going?" Lou huffed.
Jason smiled and boy he looked good. "You'll see, just wait."
"Lou, come on," I said. "This sounds interesting."
Louise was silent as we walked. I smiled, thinking of what Jason could have planned, but suddenly something cold sprayed against my bare shoulders and I yelped in surprise. I clung to Jason as he laughed.
"Oh no, princess," Jason laughed. "That's not quite good enough."
Suddenly he picked me up and tossed me. He just freaking tossed me! I screamed as I flew through the air, but then I landed in cool water. I resurfaced and gulped in air and saw a laughing Jason practically doubled over.
"Jason!" I yelled
Another splash came next to me and Louise surfaced a second after. She glared at Dan who was standing there smiling and laughing along with Jason. Louise then smirked at me and I smirked back.
"Help me!" I screamed, bobbing under the water. "I can't swim!"
Jason instantly stopped laughing and his expression changed to worry and panic. He then leaped in the water and swam over to me in a moment. He embraced me and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he treated water.
"Are you okay?" he asked. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know! Please forgive me!"
I frowned at him, pouting my lip out, which he stared at. "That's not quite good enough," I said.
I then pulled him closer to me and I kissed him. He kissed me back, slowly, savoring every second of it. He tasted wet, and sweet, and he was so comforting that I deepened the kiss myself.
Suddenly a large splash landed on us and that forced Jason and I to drift apart. I broke through the surface again and saw Dan holding Louise above the water. She was fighting against him and he was just laughing. Jason and I joined in his laughter, earning me a glare from Lou.
"Lora! Don't encourage this behavior!" Louise said.
I laughed even more. "You sound just like Pe-"
I shut up a moment too late, feeling not only my sadness return but also visibly seeing Louise's. I swam over to her and hugged her face since Dan held her legs over his shoulder.
"I'm sorry," I whispered. "And we were just starting to have fun."
Lou smiled. "Don't worry Lora, I won't let this ruin our fun."
I smiled back at her and then pulled back, seeing one of her evil smirks. Uh-oh...
"Gotcha!"
I screamed as Jason grabbed me from behind. He lifted me above him and carried me into the shallower water. I laughed as he held me bridal style and then I snuggled closer to him, feeling him growl in approval. Dan carried Lou over as well, but his hold on her was over-the-shoulder.
"Dan! I swear to God if you don't put me down now I will fart in your face!" Louise shouted.
Dan laughed. "I've never heard a girl fart before, so go ahead."
Louise laughed as she tried to break his hold on her, but he held on tightly. I then looked up at Jason and said seriously, "If you ever hold me like that, I will claw your ass apart."
He laughed and didn't say anything as he started walking out of the lake. A lake? When did we get near a lake? Was I that oblivious to everything? Oh well, at least I can still see the house.
"Alpha!" a girl's voice screamed.
