Chapter 24: Are you my enemy? (for real this time)

Kei was currently with Destiny, in front of a sample of the unknown energy. The white-haired girl was in a meditation pose, putting her efforts into analyzing the sample. But even if she was putting all her effort into it, she couldn't manage the flow of energy as well.

This s Kei comes in. While Destiny is analyzing the energy, the dragon was controlling her flow of energy, as well as the sample's one.

Her hair started to move slightly as if the wind was softly caressing her body, but in fact, it was her own aura, meaning that she was on the good path to find an answer, which made Kei smile a little.

Suddenly, Destiny's eyes shot wide open as she stood up and looked at her master with a small smirk.

"I found it." She said with a prideful town. Kei's smile widened as he started to reach for her head to give her a head pat, but to his surprise, she locked him in a bear-crushing hug. "I did it!! I did it I did it!!" 

She kept repeating the same sentences, again and again. Jumping while hugging him like a little girl. Kei hugged her too, an arm around her waist and patting her head. "Yeah, you did it. Congratulations Destiny, you're amazing."

"I know right!"

After some sweet time, they finally calmed down. Well, Destiny calmed down. 

"So, what is it?" Kei asked in a more serious tone, Destiny didn't lose any more time and started to tell him what she found. Kei kept listening to her, a frown appearing on his face, feeling his mana going on a rampage inside him.

 Atalanta was running towards the surge of energy she felt after killing the shadow knight, Igris.

But the place was not normal. She was now in a hallway but it was too long compared with the outside's view. An illusion spell, classic but powerful. 

Her breath could be clearly heard along her footsteps. Besides that, not a single sound, created an oppressive atmosphere that made the Greek more aware of her surroundings. But it wasn't enough as the moment she put another foot on the ground, a purple circle appeared and tried to engulf her in it.

She would have dropped in it if it wasn't for the sudden arrival of the dick wizard himself, who grabbed her hand as her whole leg was already trapped.

With a powerful swift of his arm, he succeed at freeing her of the trap, but he didn't take the momentum into consideration and so, Atalanta's body was sent into the air, her head heading right towards the ceiling. 

Her head was stuck as her body was hanging, motionless.

"Oh-oh, I'm in danger." The mage muttered worryingly, as he felt the wrath of the bowman coming out of her body.

Merlin was walking behind Atalanta, who had some dust on her hair, while the wizard was scrubbing his head, where the catgirl hit him hard...really hard.

"You meanie! I helped you and that's how you thank me!!!" He yelled in annoyance with some tears in his eyes. Atalanta didn't even look back as she answered. " You deserved it, you fuckin' trash."

They continue to walk, the tense atmosphere was still there but Merlin didn't seem to care as he was still whining like a child who just lost his lollipop. Atalanta stopped in her tracks as she felt a new surge of energy, same with Merlin, who gained a serious face.

"It was straight ahead of us."

"I know."

Without more words, Atalanta ran at high speed, ignoring Merlin, who told her to wait. Children's lives were on the line and she wasn't going to let them die on her watch.
