"So are we just not gonna talk about it?" Scorpius took a seat next to Draco, his eyes fixed on Cordelia in the kitchen with the baby.

Draco clenched his jaw, "About what?"

"You cheated on Faith." Scorpius points out, watching Draco's face falter. "With who? I've got no clue. But I'm a little upset that Cordelia was literally in the hospital and you were to shove your dick somewhere. Have some respect."

Again, Draco gritted his teeth and looked away, trying to ignore the pang it sent to his heart when he'd found Cordelia like that. He didn't mean to keep making out with her, he just wanted to give her a distraction while he fixed his leg— but he got too caught up.

Now, Cordelia was sitting in a chair, holding a two year old baby in her arms that Draco had no clue about. Faith hadn't cheated on him when she'd had this baby— but he certainly didn't know she had her. Certainly didn't know she gave that baby to the father and now, he doesn't want to take care of her.

He pulled out his phone, and called her number on his phone. She answered on the third ring, "Hi babe."

"When are you coming home?" He questioned her, trying not to sound too aggravated.

"Oh, I'm on my way right now. I bought this—"

He hung up the phone, not caring what else she had to say. All he was focused on was how Cordelias eyes lit up on her face when the baby giggled in her arms. It was the first time he'd ever seen a genuine smile on her face, and now an exhausted one.

Draco knew this was going to be a problem. Of course, he had all the money in the world, that wasn't a problem for him to support a baby. But her mother— faith would probably want to put it up for adoption.

For just a split second, looking at her with a child on her hip as she sliced some strawberry's— he could fall in love with her.

Scorpius got off the couch, leaving Draco to sit there, just thinking. He was still upset about Cordelia being hurt, and without her knowing, he was trying to find something— anything that proved who it was. But Cordelia's mother was smarter than he thought.

"You've already thought of a name?" Scorpius asked Cordelia as they walked back into the living room, sitting on the other couch.

"Mhm," she hummed softly, sitting the baby in her lap. "Carmella."

Her face was so soft, her hands holding the baby so gently in her arms. It melted Draco's heart down to the core— broke down every single wall around it.

Brax came running down the stairs, straight into Scorpius' arms, and the picture they'd created, now beat Draco's heart to a pulp. They looked like a perfect family. It hurt him more than he'd expected, and he stood up, walking out of the living room.

It took him two months and three weeks to realize he chose the wrong Annalise, and now, he was afraid she was already in Scorpius' grasp.

Cordelia woke up to shouting, and a door slamming.

A gasp left her lips when she realized she wasn't breathing, and her eyes landed on Carmella, fluttering her eyes open at the sound as well. Her heart beat increased, chest pounding and her head going dizzy for a moment.

She pulled the covers up over her head, and situated Carmella on her lap, cradling her. She could hear her mother shouting, could hear how angry she sounded.

Nobody else was shouting except her mother.

When they got to her hallway, she held Carmella tighter and pressed her cheek into her head, trying her hardest not to panic.

"I don't understand! He shows up and says it's my kid?! Draco I would never cheat on you!" Her mother kept yelling, and fuck, Cordelia couldn't take it anymore.

"I'm not saying you did," Draco stated, as calmly as he could. "I'm just telling you that your child is here and there's nothing we can do about it. I don't need you to lie to me, I don't mind if you've had a baby before. I have a son, you think I'm going to judge you?"

"But—"

"Please, for fuck sakes, please stop yelling."

Cordelia covered her ears after that, her body trembling. She couldn't stop shaking, couldn't stop her ears from ringing, because all she heard was police cars and that car crash. All she heard was that car hit the other one—

Her bedroom door opened, and she couldn't move an inch. She was so glad Carmella wasn't crying, she was such a calm baby. But Cordelia was losing her mind, and it was all happening at once.

Until hands slid underneath her, and pulled the covers off of her, a body settling underneath and laying her on top of his lap. Draco took her hair out of her bun, and started to message her scalp, her mouth quivering.

"Breathe, Baby," he whispered, watching her try to gasp for air. "I need you to breathe for me. You're okay."

Maybe, just maybe, he was starting to figure her out.

He grabbed Carmella gently, and laid her down on the other side of the bed, some pillows on the edge so she doesn't fall off. Now his main focus was trying to get Cordelia to breathe.

She clutched onto his shirt, and buried her face into his chest, squeezing her eyes shut. Draco ran his fingers through her hair, and rubbed her back with his other hand. He whispered sweet things into her ears, could feel the way she was calming down.

"Are you gonna s—stay?" She stammered out, and although she knew the answer, she had just a little bit of hope.

"I can't, Love." He told her, kissing her forehead, felt the way she held only him tighter. "I would if she wasn't here. I promise you, I would."

And then, what finally allowed her to close her eyes and find some sleep, was his humming.
