"Dear Y/N,

Did you arrive safely? I hope the boat ride there wasn't too bad. The winery feels empty without you. It's strange not seeing you diligently reading through law books in the study, no noises but the subtle sounds of the pages flicking and your adorable remarks and thoughts you mutter out loud to yourself.

Speaking of law, how was the meeting with the lawyer?

I wish I could have been there with you. I'll finish my remaining business as quickly as possible, and if I finish before you come back home, I'll try to get over to Fontaine.

That woman, Donna, also brought something to my attention. She's been receiving letters from the Fatui- specifically, your sister- asking for information on you. Thankfully, Donna hasn't told them anything, but be careful. They might be trying to play dirty.

Remember not to skip meals and get adequate rest.

- Diluc Ragnvidr"

Y/N smiles as she reads the curvy, elegant lettering of Diluc's handwriting. The first letter had arrived early in the morning, and nothing made her happier than seeing the small envelope with the Mondstadt postage stamp in the corner and the Dawn Winery wax seal on the front. Her cheeks burn with blush at the small details he remembered. Although the bit about Donna makes her a little concerned, she suspected something was up as soon as Renee had told her someone was tailing her.

"Dear Diluc,

I arrived at Fontaine safe and sound! The meeting with Lilia Moreau went well, too.

Oh! You won't guess who was on the ship with me; It was Ji Tong and Chang Chang, the father and daughter we stayed with in Liyue! Apparently, Ji Tong's work caught the attention of some Fontaine inventors.

My sister greeted me at the port. You won't believe what she did! She dyed her hair to match yours! I seriously wanted to rip her hair off her head!
She invited me to dinner with my family that night. I went and found that they're still as disrespectful as ever. To be honest, their reactions to finding out I was a Captain of the Knights of Favonius, dating the owner of the Dawn Winery, and was the one to shut down Ida's operations last summer were priceless! It was definitely still hard to be in the same room as them, but they aren't as scary as they were four years ago."

Diluc grins to himself as he reads the letter, proud that Y/N was able to face her family. He can almost hear her voice as he reads the half-cursive half-chicken scratch handwriting. He's a bit irritated by Ida's petty actions, but any negative emotions are immediately washed away by Y/N's writing.

"Speaking of Donna and the Fatui, someone has been following me. I'm not sure who yet or how long, but they could be related to the Fatui footsteps found near the winery earlier this week. Ask Kaeya if he's found anything about that.

Take care, Tomato-head!

-Y/N L/N"

He frowns at the mention of Kaeya's name and the nickname the letter ends with. He had waited three days for her reply, only to be met with a series of strange events and the name of his brother. With a sigh, he wraps up the work on his desk, sets the envelope safely aside, and goes looking for Kaeya.

"Dear Y/N,

Your family definitely sounds tiresome. I'm so proud that you were able to face them and even brag about your achievements.

As you requested, I spoke with Kaeya (even though that idiot was nearly drunk when I found him), and he said nothing of note has happened. Those footsteps seem to be the first and last thing of their own.
Still, be careful- especially if you think the person following you is a Fatui.
