A test that is always interesting to observe that is basic psychology is how a person reacts to the crime scene images.
Usually an innocent person will look away shocked at the photos infront of them someone who is guilty will look away but no shock or anything other then looking away will occur.
As they've seen these scenes before.

I'm no police officer but my curiosity takes over so I place the pictures in front of Rosaline I study her face intensely.
Her bottom lip begins to quiver slightly her face scrunching up in repulsion as she looks at the photos. She then looks away her face looking sickened I also notice the way her body shakes a little.

The perfect response.
Almost textbook perfect.

Reaching forward I remove the photos pointing at my secretary to grab a box of tissues.

" I know the pictures are difficult to look at, you'll be shown them in court so I always try to show them beforehand so it's not such a shock."

She turns back towards me but instead of any tears she looks completely composed again.

" I guess you won't be needing any tissues"

" I guess not" her eyes study me curiosity swirling in her eyes.

" Would you like to know why I chose you as my lawyer?" She asks me.

I sit up straight in my chair tucking my hair behind my ear she pays attention to this, she pays attention to my every move like an animal watching its prey.

" You have very pretty hair" her voice is low and enticing.

I know that's an inappropriate comment to make in such a setting considering this is such a serious meeting I'm not sure why she'd say such a thing.

" Why did you choose me then? Once you've answered we'll be getting back to talking about what your being charged for"

She grins her mouth parting showing me that intriguing gap between her two front teeth. I look away aware that it may look like I'm staring at her lips which I was but to her it may look odd.

She begins to tap her foot under the table which creates an annoying sound which ruins the quiet sterile atmosphere that I like.

" I chose you because I am intrigued by you" she says this quietly. Like she's nervous to tell me.

" Excuse me?" I blurt out confused at what she means.

" You intrigue me. Everything about you your demeanour, your drive, your success and even the way you seem to hesitate slightly before you say or act has me intrigued. I've been a fan of yours for awhile that is why you are my lawyer"

I just stare at her unsure on what the hell to respond which further fuels the fact she's noticed my extra second before I reply to certain things. I feel myself stiffen suddenly hyper aware of my surroundings and this women in front of me.

I have learnt one major thing over the years that people who notice such small things that would seem insignificant to average people are the types of people I watch out for.

I eye her up and down I don't bother to hide my cold gaze I don't bother to get into character this time I look at her I really look.

" Let's get back to what we're both here for" I demand my voice cold.

She flinches slightly but also I see the corner of her mouth grin a little like she's confirming something in her head.

" Okay Ms Kennedy"

The way she says my second name slowly further adds to this edge about her that I can't seem to figure out.
I don't want to figure it out.

The meeting carries on for about another hour we talk through what my role will be what she should be doing and not doing, I talk her over all the proceedings that will be taking place she doesn't really say to much the entire time her strange behaviour from earlier completely dimmed down.

" Your trial will take place in the Crown Court as it's such a serious case you'll take your plea of innocence then the trial will begin. Your trial date is a week from now and you'll be meeting with me again in three days"

She nods so I take this as the meeting finishing so I begin clearing up my folders and my laptop.

" What perfume are you wearing"

I look up stunned by her question.

" I wear Baccarat Rouge" I reply hesitantly.

I watch as she inhales the air letting out a groan as she does so looking at me with eyes swirling with what I would perceive as hunger.

" You smell delicious" her voice is low thick with something I don't recognise.

I just stare at her uncertain on what an appropriate response would be so I opt with the easy route.

" Yep that's why I bought it"

She stares for a few seconds her eyes lingering over my lips for a split second then she  throws her head back laughing uncontrollably like I've just said something hilarious.
I just stay quiet.

I let out a breathe I didn't know I'd been holding as two officers walk in the room meaning she's leaving.
As soon as she spots the officers just for a second I notice a darkness cross her face something that changes her entire look but I can't tell if I'd imagined it as it came and went so quickly.

The officers grab her roughly as they get her up out of her chair by the way she struggles a bit it's obvious to me she doesn't like being ordered around.

" I'll see you in three days" I tell her.

As they haul her away she stops moving  turning to face me.

" I'll be counting down the hours" then they lead her away.

I slump in my chair as soon as she's gone.

What the fuck was that all about.
Never have I ever experienced whatever that was something about Rosaline is complete unforeign to me which is unusual as I'm usually never left feeling any types of uncertainty about anyone.
I never feel anything, I don't feel anything so why is my stomach turning slightly every time I play that encounter back over and over.

I check my watch I don't have anymore clients but I'll stay at the office for a few more hours to compile up my defence but to also look more into Rosaline as although we were just in a meeting it's like I couldn't read her.
I couldn't see her.
I'll first grab some lunch as I skipped breakfast this morning I don't want my work to be compromised because I haven't got enough energy to be able to work to my full ability.

I usually grab lunch with Florence she's another lawyer in the firm who I'll casually eat lunch with from time to time, we'll engage in senseless small talk which is unintelligible but adds to my social appearance of being sociable at work. I'd rather eat lunch in my office but to blend in socialising is something pivotal that I have to involve myself in.

I grab my bag  heading to the toilet first before I meet Florence for lunch. Before going to the toilet I check over myself in the mirror I reapply some lip gloss and give my hair a brush, my eyes are immediately drawn to the sink below me as I spot a tiny scrunched up piece of paper resting in the sink.
I reach for it picking it up and turning it over it my hand.
I undo it as a squint to see tiny scribble writing which says ' La vie en rose'.
What does that even mean? I grab my phone googling it quickly, it says it means seeing life through rose coloured glasses I turn it over in my hand confused as to what on earth that means and why was it was in the sink.

To see life though rose coloured glasses does that mean to not see life for what it truly is. Something about this note makes me think of Rosaline but I don't know why it does. Obviously she has nothing to do with a random note but my intuition is never usually wrong.
Let's say she did leave me this note my question is...
Why?
