The little coffee trick didn't work but I have a lot more ways to catch her out this meeting, I won't directly confront her but I'll make sure if it is her messing with me she knows I suspect her.
I need to remember to keep it professional though as the boundaries between lawyer and client cannot be broken so provoking her to much could be dangerous for me.Turning my laptop to face her I show the email I was sent this morning about her behaviour she reads through the email looking disinterested as she does this but also something I haven't seen on her before she looks somewhat annoyed.
" I'd like to first start of by saying I'm not your babysitter emails like this really can be avoided, you simply just need to behave" I tell her.
She lets out an over exaggerated sigh leaning back into her chair looking more disinterested by what I'm saying then when she was reading the email, this agitates me.
She starts playing with the bright cuffs of her sleeves rolling them up revealing her toned arms underneath I can't help but be amazed at how defined her arms are she definitely notices me staring so I look away swiftly which causes her to laugh underneath her breath." I wanted to see you again" she says whilst rolling her sleeves back down.
" What?" I sit up straight confused at what she means " So let me get this straight your behaviour was so you could see me again?".
She hesitates a little bit I can see by her face she's deciding what to reply by the way she looks away from me.
" To put it plainly yes I wanted to see you again."
" Can you see why that's a problem?" I ask her annoyed by her disregard for boundaries.
" Yes I see the problem but I told you when we first met you intrigued me which is rare considering I find nobody intriguing"
I don't even know what to say to this. What do I even say? The fact she'd get herself in trouble potentially getting herself in danger just so she can speak to me is completely reckless not only for her but for me. I look up at her as I do she leans forward towards me sniffing the air then licking her lips.
" You smell different"
The perfume.
I'd put on the perfume." Do I?" I ask fully aware that I do indeed smell different.
" New perfume?"
" Yes it's new" I look deeply at her searching her face for a reaction but I just get nothing all I get is what she wants to show me. She knows exactly how to put on the correct face, we have that in common.
" We'll it smells divine the person who brought it must have tremendous taste"
A grin spreads across her face, adding to my high suspicion that it was her who sent it to me.
" The person who bought me it clearly doesn't know me I immediately binned the perfume as soon as I sprayed it it's completely trash"
If she wants to play I'll play.
Her hands that were resting gently on the table clench up into fists her expression is now unreadable but from the dark glint in her eyes I've definitely made her angry. I like that darkness in her eyes I want to see it more." My partner is the only one who knows how to pick out the best perfumes for me" I say taunting her further.
" Your partner?"
" Yes my boyfriend"
A few seconds of silence passes so I proceed to open up some different documents on my laptop to get the subject back to the meeting I click away at the keyboard as I move the documents into a word document so I can enhance the words, before I am about to show her them I'm startled as I see her stood up behind her chair.
