A New Approach

(A/N): I know! I know I said I was gonna take a break from this but I am so excited for this storyline, that I couldn't tear myself away from it. Hope you all can forgive me. Enjoy!

3rd Person POV

Teams RWBY and JNPR are on an elevator to see General Ironwood, Winter is waiting for them at the top. The Dinokids were told to stay in the Autobot base beneath Atlas Academy.

Ren: So, how do we go about the lamp and our new Salem problem?

Ruby: I'm not sure, but we should be careful with what we say, at least we know for sure that Ironwood can be trusted.

Blake: We'll follow your lead Ruby.

The elevator beeps and opens it's doors at the top of Atlas Academy, the large group steps off the elevator and as soon as they do, Winter is there to greet them.

Winter: Perfect, the General is just finished with a council meeting. Come on.

Weiss: ....How have things been since Beacon? We saw the ships surrounding Atlas when we flew in.

Winter: The General will explain rest assured. Where are the children?

Ruby: We asked them to stay with the Autobots while we talked, they can get a little.... destructive when they're bored.

Winter: I saw how they performed in the field, you seem to have raised them well.

Weiss: Thanks. We're trying our best.

The group walks in with Winter, inside sits Ironwood at his desk and next to him is another familiar face.

Penny: Salutations!

Penny rushes forward and tackles Ruby in a tight hug, everyone is still surprised that Penny is even alive.

Meanwhile, the Dinokids are down in the Autobot's secret base beneath Atlas. An Atlas soldier appointed by Winter, because she's currently busy upstairs, drove into the base with a vehicle for Optimus to scan as an alternate form.

Soldier: Commander Optimus. What we have here, is an experimental All-Terrain Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle. Developed by our finest engineers in our Mask Division.

Optimus: Thank you. This will most certainly do.

Optimus proceeds to scan the vehicle and take it as an alternate mode.

Ratchet: Optimus, I've detected Decepticon activity. It seems drilling equipment is needed, hopefully they found an Energon deposit.

Optimus: Hmm, *looks at Dinobots* Grimlock?

Grimlock: What?

Optimus: It might be nothing, but I could use your assistance with some Decepticon activity.

Slag: Why is he the only one who gets to go?

Optimus: For the moment, it is only reconissance.

Sludge: What that?

Slash: I'll explain later Sludge.

Optimus: Ratchet will get you to us should we need backup.

Optimus picks up Grimlock and put him on his shoulder, he then walks out and activates his jetpack and flies off towards the Decepticon activity.

Grimlock: What is Energon? Why it important?

Optimus: To answer both your questions, Energon is the fuel and lifeblood of all Autobots and Decepticons alike. The war between our two races erupted between us when the Decepticons wanted more than their fair share and horde all of the Energon for themselves. Although, Megatron did preach the ideaology that things on Cybertron were unfair to some, he merely used that as a ploy to gain more power.
