Troubles no Trouble to me

The habit of madness

Hey, It's Patterson. When Will collapsed, I knew I was going to have problems. It was already going to be hard enough convincing them I was on their side. The boss said that I needed to either kill them or bring them to him. I have a feeling he would have more trust in me if I showed him how well I could convince them I was with them. So anyways, I walked over to Maya(who was also unconscious now), and waved my hands like I always do with my powers. I had just enough time to move away and act like I hadn't been doing anything before she woke up. One down, one to go. 

"Wait, I feel great! It's almost like I was never even hurt. This is so weird. Do you know what happened, Patterson?" I stifled a laugh, because she had no clue. 

"Dang, this is crazy, I didn't do anything, and Will has been unconscious. This is great! Because you were really hurt before." They say ignorance is bliss, but Will and Maya don't even know that I could literally murder them both at any moment...

"Don't you think we should get out of this cave?" Maya woke me from my thoughts. 

"Yeah, probably. Do you think we can lift Will?" I realized my mistake, but Maya didn't seem to notice. The thing is, Will didn't tell me his name, and Maya didn't either.

That's one of the joys of working for DARK. Access to information about anyone at anytime. I knew my job was going to be hard, because I could sense the strong powers they both had. I still remember the day that man came telling me about my powers...he told me I could be great. I declined his offer because something didn't seem right. The next day, another man came, offering to take me to his academy. He told me I could be feared by everyone. Now that sounded more like it. He called it the academy of future DARKs. I accepted his offer, and before I knew it, I was being introduced to my dorm mates. I started learning my power, which grew stronger and stronger. Before I knew it, I was on my first assignment. My job was to kill two powerful twins who had recently joined PAIN. Now, despite the rather bleak title, PAIN is a organization that fights DARK. DARK is planning to take over the world and start a dictatorship. Anyways, oh how very enjoyable it was to see their shocked faces as I, their only "friend", murdered them. I love doing that... But after I finished quite a few missions, I graduated and got a job working for the company DARK. I am their youngest member, which makes me great at this kind of job. The reason I am the youngest member to graduate, is because my power was very strong, and they knew I would be great for assignments like this one.

That's when Maya shocked me, once again, out of my flashback. 

"Patterson, grab his legs, and I will grab his shoulders, and we will get out of here." As I was grabbing his legs, I started waving my hands and concentrating on my power. Luckily, Maya did not notice me doing it.

"What?? No I did NOT eat your chocolate and cheese! And really, that sounds like a quite disgusting combination anyways!" Yep, Will was awake and my power was working...

Hey everybody!
I have never left an authors note or anything in this book, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has read my book up to this point. Sorry for the short chapters, but I like being able to publish as much as possible. Hopefully I will have more ideas soon... And I should be able to write more now, I was very busy for a while. Anyways, please comment on it if you like it!
