I woke up in the bed my parents used to sleep in. I looked around the room and nearly passed out again. So many memories coming way to fast: the chair by the bed, the blue carpet, the red comforter, the really large bookshelf, and all of it. I groaned, and tried to stay conscious through it all.
"Will? Are you alright? We've been worried." I looked to my left and saw Maya sitting in the chair, as pretty as ever.(did I say that out loud?)
I finally got settled again, and said "I think I'm ok, how long has it been since I passed out?"
"Well, a day and a half."
"WHAT?" Oh no, that's way to long.
"Yeah, I know, they're probably hot on our tail."
"That's a problem, I'd rather not be caught by those people."
So of course right when I said that we heard persistent pounding on the door downstairs. Peter walked into the room.
"What do we do?" He whispered.
"Well first off, let's help get Will out of this bed." Maya said. They came over and helped me out of bed, and then we all just stood there a minute thinking. That minute was a minute too much. We heard the sound of the door being broken down.
"Guys, I know these people from experience. When they get in here, there's a good chance they might just kill us," Peter whispered. The funny thing was, he almost sounded cheerful, but maybe that was just part of how he spoke. All of a sudden, I remembered something I was amazed I actually remembered about the house.
"I have an idea that may get us out," I said, "follow me."
I led them to the over large bookshelf, started pulling it aside. Peter jumped in and helped me.
"STOP THEM!" I looked back, and they were right on our tail. I threw open the door, and we jumped into the small hallway leading down. Maya was last in and she closed the door as fast as she could and we ran. We heard the door fly open behind us, and we ran faster. The passage widened, and I fell back a bit to run by Maya. That's when I remembered the small side passageway, mainly hidden from the main tunnel. I jumped in and opened the door, silently. The room barely held us, but we made it in and closed the door again. I looked to my side and saw Maya, who looked really scared. I grabbed her hand, her eyes staring into mine.
"It'll be alright," I said, to myself just as much as everybody else.
"What if they kill us Will? I don't want to die."
"I don't know what will happen, but at least I will be with you," I told her. She smiled, and that's when we heard the men run past.
"DID YOU NOT GET THEM?" Oh great, there was another man. Happy birthday me, people are everywhere trying to kill me.
Did I mention it was my birthday? I kinda forgot until now. So happy birthday me, there's a gang of people who want to murder me. Depressingly, it's the only birthday present I've ever gotten.
"We were chasing them, and if they didn't get to you at the end, they must be in a side passageway." Uh oh, that's my cue to panic.
I couldn't hear them at all, that was the worst part. I wouldn't even know when they would find me.
"HA!!!" The man busted down the metal door. "I found them, they're in here."
No, no no no no no no! They can't take us, not now. Right when I finally have something with Maya going on, they come in and take us. Well, there's that and the fact that I don't want to die.
It turned out that there were 6 men here to capture us. They shared three vans, all of them very similar to the ones Maya and I were in 4 days ago. Dang, it's hard to think that that was only 4 day ago, so much has happened since then.
"You're comin with me," the biggest and baddest of the gang said to me. He grabbed me by the arm, and pulled me all the way outside and into his van. I heard the sounds of the van I was in and the sounds of the other 2 vans starting up, and then we pulled away from my house.
