THE lady immediately turned to him with wide eyes, looks like she was startled by his presence. She immediately stood up and backed away, he was about to follow her but he chose to stay still, getting more confused because of her actions.

Damn, so beautiful.

There was a sudden silence between them before Maximus spoke, "Oh, pardon my intrusion and rude behavior for not introducing sooner. I am Maximus Vassily, Magnus's brother. You can just call me Maxim." He said and bowed.

The lady doesn't seem to know what to do, she looks so confused and scared, as if she's shaken by the thought that someone found her.

"G-good evening...?"

Maxim took small steps to approach her, "You're so beautiful."

She backed away immediately, "P-pardon?"

He stopped after realizing how she's putting so much effort to stay away from him. He then smiled genuinely admiring her from a distance, "I can't help but to admire your beauty. Now I know why he kept--"

"I'm sorry, I need to go,"

The lady said hastily and tried to run away. But Maxim was faster, he catched her hand and pulled her towards him. The lady almost cried when he held her, so he just smiled to calm her down.

"Hey, where are you going? I'm not gonna do anything to you, my Lady."

She tried to push him away, "I'm sorry, the emperor told me not to talk to strangers."

Maxim furrowed, "But, I am not, am I? Is my introduction not enough? Don't worry, I won't cause harm."

"B-but, the emperor--"

Maxim fondled her beautiful hair, "Hush, stay calm. Why are you panicking? I won't hurt you."

"B-but... He..."

He sighed and slowly let her go, then he stepped meters away from her, "All right. I'm stepping away. Look, we're five feet apart. Isn't this enough? You want me to stay back further?"

"I'm sorry..." The lady bowed.

"Don't worry," He said and stared at her endless beauty once again, "You're gorgeous. I can't... You're so beautiful, my Lady. What was your name again?"

The lady humbled herself before him, "I'm sorry for not introducing sooner, my Lord. I am Blandine Orelia."

Blandine.

"Blandine... Blandine..."

He repeated her name, it slipped from his mouth smoothly, and before he knew it he couldn't be able to stop mentioning her beautiful name.

"Oh! Lady Blandine! I knew it, it was you. You look lovely, my lady."

It's really her, the runaway concubine. How could she be this gorgeous?

Lady Blandine's cheeks was tinted red all of a sudden, despite the darkness of the night, the moonlight made her blush evident. Lady Bladine bowed to him again as an apology, and before he knew it, the damsel was running away from him. He just sighed and stared at her as she vanished from his sight.

Fuck, she's more than what he thought. His heart is still racing. Now he truely understands why Magnus couldn't get over her, why Magnus did not stop looking for her.

She was all a person could ask for.

Ah, perhaps, he could look for another pavilion to rest. Maxim knows Magnus will not be happy once his brother hears this, Maxim don't want bloodshed in this empire. He'll take his time, he'll be able to talk to that lady in time. Innocents are the best to play with after all.

BLANDINE'S heart is beating so loud. How could someone enter that pavilion like that? Oh, he's not just someone, he's an emperor. So of course he would enter, she told the guards not to worry about her at all since she won't escape and do delirious things. And they probably know emperor Maxim, they wouldn't dare stop him to enter that pavilion.

Just when she thought her misery was over, she was completely wrong. Because standing at the chamber's door was his majesty with oozing dark aura.

"So, what did you two talk about?" His voice screams authority and anger.

Blandine stepped back, "M-my Lord?"

With a fast movement, the emperor is suddenly standing right infront of her. Holding her tightly, as if she's about to escape anytime and he would never allow that to happen.

His grip hurts, it would leave a mark. But she can't defy him, whatever it is that made him like this, she hopes it must not happen again. Because he's scary, as if the beast she's trying yo forget is slowly rising once again.

The emperor grabbed her small waist and held her captive in his arms, "Was he good enough to make you blush, my Lady? What words did he use to make your cheeks burn like that? Would you care to tell me? Or would you use it to calm me down? Because I can't seem to cool my rage right now, my Lady. I'm pretty sure I can stab anyone who walks through this place right now."

Blandine gulped, tears slowly forming in her eyes due to extreme fear, "My--my Lord..."

"I've told you, haven't I? Do not talk to strangers." His jaw clenched, and sooner, the distance between them was claimed roughly.

"Do not talk to anyone else, unless it's me."
