My blackout mustn't have lasted long. When I came to, I was laying in Draco's lap on the floor. However, as I sat up and glanced around, it seemed that everyone but the Minister and Draco had cleared from the room.
"Where'd everyone go?" I asked.
"I thought it best that when you wake up, you shouldn't have everyone staring at you. And your sister's yelling certainly wasn't doing you any good," the Minister responded.
I nodded, not quite knowing what to say.
"Now, I must get back and finish matching up the other students. I sent for Madam Pomfrey, she should be here shortly. After she checks on you, you can head to the eighth floor corridor, where your rooms will be."
We both nodded in understanding, and so he left, shutting the door behind him, leaving us alone.
Neither of us said anything as we sat there. Instead, I took the chance to properly look at him. Up close, I could see he was quite muscular, from the way his uniform fit his body. And his face, while a bit pointed, just added to his attractiveness. And his hair...
"I'm quite hot, aren't I?"
"What?" I asked, snapping out of my thoughts, my cheeks blushing heavily. He couldn't know what I was thinking, could he?
"Well, you fainted at the sight of me, and you've been continuously staring for the past five minutes, so it must be because I'm hot," he answered with a smirk.
"Well aren't you full of yourself," I stated, rolling my eyes.
"No, I just know good looks when I see them. And I must say, you're quite attractive yourself."
"Just attractive?" I questioned with a smirk of my own.
"Now look who's full of herself," he commented, and I laughed.
"Hardly. Hermione's the hot one, not me."
"Bushy-haired, buck-toothed Granger? I have to disagree with you there, you far outdo her in the beauty department." My blush deepened, but before I could reply, the door opened.
An older woman dressed like a nurse walked in and kneeled down beside us.
"Kingsley didn't give me much information, could one of you please explain to me what happened?" she politely asked.
"I was getting paired for the marriage law, but before I could get to the couch, my thoughts got the better of me and I passed out," I explained, looking at the floor.
"What exactly do you mean by your thoughts getting the better of you? What were you thinking of?" she continued to question.
"I—just—everything that's about to happen. The living together, the marriage, the pregnancy, the baby, all of it!"
"Well, I won't deny that it is a lot. But just take it one step at a time, focus on the good parts, and not the bad. And remember, everyone your age is going through this, so talk to them if you feel stressed. We don't want to risk you passing out again, now do we?" she advised.
I shook my head, and she stood up. "Well, good luck you two, I know this marriage law is difficult. I'm afraid good luck wishes is the best I can do for you."
"Thanks, Madam Pomfrey," Draco and I said in unison. She walked out, and then Draco helped me stand up.
"Do you think you can walk?" he asked.
I nodded, and so we began our trek out. "So, you're Granger's sister?"
"I'm a Granger, Draco. But if you're referring to Hermione, then yes, I am."
