no memes here unfortunately but i just had to share my Thoughts on one specific part of the jedi code
specifically the "no attachments" part
now, it is widely believed that this means jedi are forbidden from engaging in relationships
HOWEVER
what I think it means, is that a jedi can love people and have relationships with family, friends, romantic partners etc. but they have to be able to let go and they can't be selfish or prioritise their loved ones over the greater good
so basically, Anakin could have been in a relationship with Padme without breaking the code, but he broke the code when he became so attached that the thought of her dying or leaving him caused him to turn to the dark side to try and save her
if he was not attached, then he could love her whilst accepting that she might die
which sounds harsh when i phrase it like that but i hope you get what i mean???
another example: say a jedi's loved one was killed by a bounty hunter. due to the code forbidding attachments, they would be allowed to be upset and grieve, however it would go against the code if they obsessively pursued revenge against the bounty hunter
idk just my Thoughts (these particular Thoughts happened at 3am)
