Pokémon The Champion Above Champions

Chapter 3

{Kanto Region}

In the woods of the Kanto region, a young boy walked silently through the woods. He had on a yellow tank with a green coat over said tank, brown jeans with some slight tears here and there, and dark dress shoes. He also had on a backpack

His hair stuck out, it was blonde with a red streak.

A creature moved alongside him, it appeared to be an Eevee. While the two walked beside each other a noise suddenly alerted them, the boy looked over to his companion, "You hear that?"

Eevee nodded up at him before it went into a sprint forward, which the boy followed slowly. When they arrived they saw a elderly man being flocked by a group of avian Pokemon.

Seeing the man was in trouble, Eevee looked to its trainer wanting to accept the man. The boy closed his eyes, before a slight smile formed on his face.

"Eevee use Swift." Eevee nodded at the command, Eevee released many star shaped rays that traveled towards the group of Pidgey forcing them away from the old man, the Pidgey becoming angry at the attack and went to assault Eevee. "Now use Sand Attack."

Eevee turned itself around and sent a pile of sand at the Pidgey making them miss their admit at their assault.

"Use Swift again." Once more Eevee fired off a barrage of star shaped rays at the Pidgeys. The Pidgeys, seemingly having enough, finally decided to fly away in retreat.

Now that the avian Pokemon were finally gone the boy finally went to the old man's side, "T-Thank you, young man."

The boy merely nodded, "Pidgeys usually aren't that aggressive unless they are provoked, did you do anything to upset them?"

"Well I was monitoring the flock, but my clumsy self happened to startle them when I stepped on a tree twig." The elderly man explained with a gleeful expression on his face.

"I see, best to be careful next time." The blonde haired boy warned as Eevee came and jumped on top of his head. Eevee seemed to agree with him as it nodded along.

"Thanks for the concern, oh my, forgot to introduce myself, My name is Samual Oak. Though most call me Professor Oak because I'm a professor." Oak introduced himself to the young man, "If I may ask the name of my savor?"

"Zenith, Zenith Libertad."

"Libertad?" Oak asked with a puzzled tone, before his face went into one of shock, "You wouldn't happen to be related to a Rufus Libertad?"

"Yeah, he's my dad." Zenith nodded his head slightly so as to not shake off Eevee, "You know him?"

"Do I know him? He used to be my assistant, before he went on and became a big professor himself." Oak smiled, seemingly having pleasant thoughts of Rufus when he was younger, "Might I ask what brings you to Kanto, last time I checked Rufus stayed in Kalos."

"I'm here to start my journey." Zenith said.

"I would have expected you to start in Kalos, but it doesn't matter, nice to meet you Zenith. Why don't you come with me, we can go to my lab and I can help get you started." Oak smiled at him as Eevee let up an excited noise.

"Oh, I forgot to thank my other savor." Oak reached out and petted Eevee, "I can see your Eevee is very well taken care."

Zenith looked up at his companion, being somewhat confused by Oak's words. Why wouldn't he take care of his Pokemon isn't that what he is supposed to do as a trainer? And besides he had known Eevee for the maturity of his life, along with his other Pokemon.

They might as well be family.

"Yeah sure, lead the way."
