Harry's POV
I look at the time on the wall clock and it's 3:45 A.M.
I've been tossing and turning not been able to even get a little sleep. I let out a frustrated sigh and sit up.
Maybe a walk might help? I'm parched too, might have a glass of water while I'm out.
I swing my legs off the bed and stand up. I grab my sweat pants and put it on, then slowly tiptoe my way out of the outhouse. I walk along the sideway, around the pool, to the backyard and get into the house through the sliding door.
Slowly, without making any noise, I make my way to the kitchen. It isn't dark, the light from the backyard are coming in through the kitchen window. Once I'm in, I grab a water bottle from the refrigerator. I never really toured the main house. This kitchen is as big as mine back home. Marble tiling with a similar marble counter top right in the middle of the kitchen. On top of the countertop is a simple oval shaped lampshade. A row of wooden cabinets along the top and the bottom along the smaller side of the kitchen. The refrigerator and over are opposite to the door and the wall adjacent to the door has a six burner gas stove embedded into another marble countertop. A bit further away from the gas stove is the sink. A few spoons hanging on the hooks on the wall above the sink.
I drink the cool water and I feel like I haven't had a drink in ages. I take another sip and keep the water back into the refrigerator.
I walk out of the kitchen and make my way back to the sliding door of the backyard. But before I could make it, I hear some shuffling sound coming from upstairs. I trace my steps back and stand near the foot of the stairs that lead up. I see a shadow of a person coming from the light of a room.
Who else is up at this hour?
I don't even know who's room that is since I haven't had a tour of the house. Do I want to know?
What if it's some robber? Or a kidnapper? Does Rose sleep alone or does she sleep with Aditi? What is the kidnapped is going to kidnap both of them.
Damn! I'm way overthinking this. I should just check it out.
I shake my head at my absurdity and start climbing the steps. The light is coming from the last door of the passage on the right side. There are three closed doors, which I'm assuming are all bedrooms. I turn my head to the left and see the symmetrical design, with four doors on the other side of the staircase too.
I slowly pad my bare feet across the cool marble tiling and walk all the way to the last door. When I reach, I realize that it isn't a wooden door, but a similar sliding glass door. But this door leads out to a huge ass balcony. It's decorated beautifully and all the furniture here is facing the open side, which I'm guessing is east. The sunrise must be beautiful here. Five lit sculptural glass lamps hanging from the ceiling. There are pots and pots of plants hanging by the many hooks on the left wall. A sofa set for two just bellow the plants. On the right, there is a small wooden table which is right in front of an Archi Swing Chair filled with a lot of pillows.
And someone happens to be all cuddled up into the pillows and seems to be reading a book.
It doesn't even take me a second to realise that it's Aditi. She's so engrossed into the book that she doesn't even notice me standing here. She's dressed in a purple hoodie and a black sweatshorts. She looks cute. Her hair up in a messy bun. Loose strands of her hair fall to her long neck.
And she's wearing glasses. Since when did she start wearing glasses? But it makes her look even more cute.
Can anything ever make her look bad?
