hi, so before we start i just wanted to say that yes this story has a lot to do with the holocaust. i have taken a class on the history of this subject and i know quite a lot of information. i do in fact know that some people might not want to read a story with such a horrific subject. if you know or, as you read do get offended or uncomfortable, feel free to just read another story of mine etc. thanks for reading, and comment and vote? thank you.
It was June 18th, 1934. I got invited to this grand party by this handsome fellow, named Tom who attended school with me.
I wore my light brown hair down, but curled it as I usually do. I wore a burgundy skirt that came to my knees and flowed beautifully in the wind. I wore a loose white shirt with lace at the bottoms and white heels. I wore my mother's red lipstick and my deep, dark mascara that I had bought from this cute little boutique on Park Avenue. I also bought a white pearl necklace that hung to my bellybutton. I paired it with peal earrings and a lacy bracelet. I wanted to make a good impression on Tom.
Tom was a senior and I was still a sophomore, but becoming a junior in September! He and I have been friends since elementary school, it was always awkward. We both secretly liked each-other but never had the guts to tell one another. We would date random people who asked us out to a local diner, to make each other angry and depressed. But, behind closed doors, I really liked Tom. He was stunning. He had short blonde hair, blue eyes, and always dressed well.
My parents never knew about how I felt towards him, no one knew how I felt towards him. And I hope no one will. Dating Tom would make me more "out there" and I didn't like a lot of attention one bit. Tom was on the basketball team and had all the girls practically drooling over him at every game he played. I would just sit in the stands with my friends, as we locked eye contact. His ocean blue eyes flowing into my dark brown ones. No! I could never date him! Enough talk about him anyways!
"Daisy let's go, we'll be late!" Bethany shouts from outside
I grab my shoulder bag and run outside
My best friend, Beth was waiting outside. Looking gorgeous, as usual. Her red hair went to her shoulders, but it was perfectly curled and her red lipstick went well with her freckles and mint green dress.
"Don't you look nice." I smirk playfully
"Oh please, I've been getting compliments all day." She shoves a curly lock from her shoulders for effect
I giggle as we walk down the beautiful Manhattan street, looking at the cherry blossom trees, the way the pink collided with the blue sky made me breathless.
"No, seriously though you look like a model." Beth looks at me
"Aw, thank you." I blush, I was never good at taking compliments
We walk for another ten minutes until we get to Tom's house. It was nearly eight and the New York City lights glowed throughout the gated community. Beth knocked on his door and we waited, standing silently.
Tom opened the door, wearing a button down plaid shirt tucked into khaki pants. His blonde hair was pushed back with gel and his smile made my knees wobble.
"Bethany," He nods at her, then looks at me and smiles wide
"Daisy, you look amazing." He kisses my cheek
"T-thank you." My hands start to shake as he pulls away
Beth rolls her eyes "Get a room."
Tom smiles sarcastically at her, then turns back to me and holds out his hand, which I gratefully take. He leads me into his parents living room and I smile in awe.
