"mama, i just killed a man. put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead. mama, life had just begun, but now i 've gone and thrown it all away."

"He comes home drunk most days. from work you know?" Ella tries to stop her tears from falling but fails at her attempt

"He pushes me around all of the time, and I get so sick and tired of it. I wish I could leave him, that's all I really want." Her sorrowful words break my heart

I sit up next to her, she does the same "Well, do you know why he became an alcoholic?" I ponder

Ella half nods "His ex wife, Emma was killed at a camp, she was a Jew."

I gasp "Oh my goodness that is horrible."

She nods "Cris lied though, said he had no idea that she was Jewish and said to go ahead with the execution, he doesn't drink because of her death; cris drinks because he is guilty."

I want to cry for her, it must hurt like hell to live like this, it wasn't her fault that Cris acted the way he did, he obviously had mental issues.

Just stay with us, please just stay with us.

But we both know that would be impossible

My head hurt as I tried to come up with a plan on what to do about Ella

Just then, Brad and Cris come into Ella's room

Cris smirks at us "Looks like you two have been having a blast in here."

Ella chuckles and stands with Cris as I do with Brad

Normally, I would have giggled at his sarcastic comment a few seconds ago but I just looked at Cris with disgust and anger.

Ella and I weren't best friends, but I looked at her as a pretty good friend and I didn't like feeling helpless about the people I cared about.

Brad gets into the drivers seat and I stand with Ella as Cris feels Brad's paint job on his bright red Ferrari

"Hey," I touch Ella's shoulder "Call me if you need help or just want to hang out okay?"

Ella smiles at me and nods

"No, really promise me." I look at her dead in the eye

She wipes a tear, then hugs me "I promise." Her blonde hair smells like strawberries

We pull away as Cris come to Ella and tells her to come inside

"Stop harassing her." Cris chuckles at his own sick joke and goes inside his house
