The two didn't say a word on their walk back home. In fact, as they walked across campus that night after the rehearsal concluded, Donghyuck purposely walked ahead of Mark to avoid him. Mark couldn't blame him though since he was the one who walked out. When they had gotten home, Donghyuck just changed and went right to bed without ever saying a word. He even faced the wall on his side of the room. "Come on, Hyuck. I didn't mean it like that," Mark had whined, but his boyfriend didn't budge. He knew he messed up, but it was better to let his boyfriend cool off. So, Mark went to his desk and opened his laptop to finish his work. But in the back of his mind, his beloved's disappointment tormented him.
When the morning came, Mark got up bright and early to meet Johnny. He changed into a pair of warm fleece sweatpants with two layers of shirts underneath his jacket. He liked to be comfortable on his Fridays off especially if he wasn't going anywhere far. But before he left, he watched Donghyuck sleep and grinned at how adorable it was to see him wrapped up in his covers like a burrito. Mark wanted him to come along to make up, but decided to let him rest. He can always talk to him later. He went on his phone and sent a message to Donghyuck's phone telling where he'll be. Then he went off.
It was the end of October but the temperatures were dropping lower and lower overnight. Mark saw puffs of air escaping his nose from all the frost in the wind. There didn't seem to be many students out on campus that morning, but once he arrived to the library, he was shocked at the sea of millennials walking in and out of the indoor cafe. He had texted Johnny already that he was there. But with every table filled up he wasn't sure if he'd catch him.
Mark walked inside glancing at every table he passed and heard a high pitched whistle nearby. He turned back and there Johnny was in the booth near the entrance wearing a blue beanie. Jeno was in the seat across him, waving his hand high."You literally walked right by us!" Johnny laughed, as Mark sped his way back.
"My bad. It's way too crowded today." Mark said and he sat beside Jeno.
"I guess everyone had the same idea." Jeno went back to eating an egg croissant he ordered.
When Mark was all settled Johnny slid the extra hot coffee cup towards him. "I already got your usual, you're welcome." Johnny said, his voice raised due to the room's volume.Mark smiled and took a sip. "Thanks... that saves a lot of time."
"It's been a while."
"I know. How are you guys doing? Now that you're in a new dorm?"
"Just fine. Same as usual." Johnny just shrugged. "Except Jeno broke the bathtub faucet trying to turn it off, because it wouldn't stop dripping."
Jeno paused with food in his mouth and looked at them like a deer in headlights. Mark almost spit out his coffee. "Are you serious?!" he said between giggles.
"I told him to leave it. He doesn't listen to me." Johnny shrugged again and drank his coffee.
Jeno swallowed his food and said, "Look, it was an accident! I thought I could make it stop but it just... came off. It was cheap anyway. You know how it is."
"Yeah and now we have to use a pair of pliers to turn that shit on and off."
"But the dripping stopped didn't it?" Jeno tapped his forehead with his finger like breaking it was the most genius idea he'd ever came up with. Johnny rolled his eyes.
"Did you call someone to fix it?" Mark asked.
"Yeah, I called some maintenance people and we're waiting on them. But who knows when that'll be." Johnny annoyedly eyed Jeno, who gave him a cheeky simper in return.
