it had been 4 months since genji's breakdown. blackwatch had been succeeding in many missions thankfully, however, genji still felt a sense of being left out, since he was forced by gabriel to sit in the sidelines. he talked to him multiple times but he was having none of it; even cassidy and moira had to step in because of gabriel's dumb excuses.

over time however, genji was back into action with joining missions. even the small ones he would do with cassidy. though it was a serious act, genji would have an absolute blast spending time with cassidy outside of blackwatch. getting to know him better and exchanging jokes.

they were really close now. genji felt like a part of him wasn't missing when he was with cassidy. it was like he filled in the gap of genji's broken puzzle piece. he felt like he could only be himself when it was with him. he enjoyed his company much more than anyone else, and wanted to do almost everything with him.

ever since their first mission, genji constantly dreamed of traveling around the world with cole just for the hell of it. he never dug deep onto why he always wanted to be with cassidy so much. all he knew was that he had found someone close to him, since hanzo, and didn't want to lose him, ever.

they'd learned how to live together in a weird way. genji learned to sleep through cassidy's father-like snoring as well as how to make his coffee in the morning, while cassidy taught himself to be a lighter sleeper in order to help with genji's occasional night terrors. after the blackwatch missions they tended to increase, but after a while they would become less frequent.

gabriel had been planning their second mission with the whole team, but all together. though there wasn't a main objective, it was mainly suited with stealth and to steal some belongings to examine and use against talon. especially the main business man, who seemed to be out of town constantly.

the way to rialto didn't feel very long. genji swore that he had blinked and somehow they had arrived at their destination. the sleep deprivation was most likely settling in, he gathered, as they all got off the train in their outfits. the new ones everybody wore were tailored to be more uniform and let them blend into their surroundings a bit better. genji didn't mind the modifications they added to his suit. as long as everything functioned properly, he could handle it.

"lead the way, gabe," cassidy's voice broke through the silence that plagued their journey up until now.

reyes remained quiet, only giving the group a slight nod of his head in the direction of the path they would be taking.

hopping out of the sliding train doors, they travelled on foot in accordance with their plans until they had reached the back entrance of the building they would be breaking into, with only the moon to be their guiding light to keep them invisible.

crisp, fresh air felt amazing at night. genji wished he could take off his helmet for the entire walk. he loved the thought of it, giggling around with cole who rambled about his western stories. getting distracted by his thoughts, and almost being caught dead in the open, gabriel had grabbed him aside before being spotted by some guards.

"keep it together, shimada." gabriel whispered. he gave moira a nod of assurance, and before genji could react, moira had placed one of her purple orbs to suck the life out of the guards.

"they're out, but for now. we should hurry." she responded, as they sidled towards the walls, breaking a vent nearby to sneak their way into the main office. genji climbed up first, reaching his hand out to help cassidy up.

"you two make your way to the office. get as much info as you can about their bombing plans. supposedly they're trying to track us, and another force. moira and i will go head on."
