ever since the kiss between cassidy and genji, their routine quite changed, especially how they viewed each other. in the mornings, they would do their training, the afternoons were to work out, get lunch and socialize, and the evenings consisted of flirtatious nature, plastering kisses on one another and cuddling together on the cowboys bed.
they were too scared to tell anyone what they did at night; however their nature when they were outside of their dorms made it quite obvious. cassidy didn't question their nature of why they did it; but it did make him very happy having the chance to caress genji and being able to exchange the tension they had.
it had been almost 2 weeks by this, tension they shared, and genji kept wondering to himself on what this really meant. he decided to talk to cassidy about it tonight. he was quite worried he would lose what was happening, but he knew it was the right thing to do, even though it felt so comforting to bury himself in his chest and feel protected by the scrawny cowboy.
genji arrived quite early at the dorm, sitting on his bed staring into space to pass the time, when after waiting hours, the door finally opened. genji took a deep breath, taking off his faceplate before facing cassidy.
cassidy was as cheerful as ever, his movements portrayed a lot more confidence then it used to. he was whistling an old western tune, finally looking at genji with the brightest smile, tipping off his hat.
"oh honey, i'm home~!"
"hey cass..."
"aww, did little buttercup here miss me?" he held genji's face and pecked him on the cheek.
"cassidy, we need to talk..." genji replied softly.
"why's that? was the reference too corny? to be honest, i didn't know whether to say it or no–"
"it's not about that. it's about what we're doing every night." he placed his hand to the other side of the bed, gesturing for him to sit down.
"i don't understand exactly why we keep doing this." he replied.
"do you not like it? i can stop–"
"cole, what do you think of me?" genji asked bluntly.
cassidy finally took a seat, fumbling with his hands.
"...i see you as my friend."
"friends don't kiss each other in the way we do."
"i know, i know..."
genji then looked at him, his facial expression fading into a strained look.
"have you kissed...any other guys besides me?"
"you're the first man i've exchanged lips with. if we're talkin' in general about love life, i have had a girlfriend, but she tried to kill me, so..."
"oh..." genji then looked off at the window that appeared in front of him.
"how bout' you, shimada?"
"well...in my youth, i was considered the playboy of my family. i used to sleep with a few girls every now and then."
cassidy was quite shocked. he saw genji as a short tempered, quiet young adult. but apparently he seemed to be quite the opposite deep down. "damn genji, didn't know you had that in ya'." he nervously chuckled.
"i'm not like that anymore. it's a waste of time, like my brother used to say."
"your point?"
"my point is—" genji trailed off with his words and then stood up.
"do you love me, cole?"
"i—"
"do you?"
cassidy didn't know quite the answer. he cared for genji, he truly did, and he never understood what he really felt about him. until that specific night, it only got more complicated.
