The interview didn't drag on, part of which was because of Ushijima's answers, they were short and left no room for much follow-up questions. When the interview ended, Ushijima and the other players headed out for lunch along with you and your son as well as Romero's wife and son who also watched the match.

It's a traditional Japanese restaurant and you haven't had Japanese food in a while. The restaurant is apparently owned by a relative of the coach so the lunch is on the house, though you insisted that you will pay since you aren't technically part of the team but he said it was fine.

And while everyone is busy eating, you heard the two kids talking about how great their dads were during the match. Until Rubens got a little carried away with it

"But my dad scored more than your dad," he said, and when he uttered those words, not only you and Rubens' mother, but all the players around the table fell silent. "My dad is better than your dad."

"Why?" Aren asked, looking at Rubens who furrowed his brows. Instead of saying what, or even countering Rubens' words with his own justification, Aren simply asked why. Not in a way that one would think he's asking that out of disparagement, but the young boy is simply asking why.
