Affect

Katya was more than unmotivated to go back to work, everything felt dull and unexciting. She knew why, but would never admit that she always spent long minutes picking out her outfit in hopes to please Trixie. Foreman informed Cuddy that Katya was taking naps in her office multiple times a day, but the woman wasn't mad at her, she was just worried. However she talked with Katya enough times to know she wasn't the kind to open up about her feelings.

Katya felt a bit better on Monday. Trixie was returning, and she could get back to silently admiring her. What she didn't expect was to see the blonde come in half an hour early. Katya just arrived and was removing her coat when she knocked.

"Missed me?" Katya teasingly asked. However Trixie didn't look like she wanted to joke.
"I'm quitting" She said while handing Katya a form, her eyes darting to the floor. The M.D blinked in disbelief, she never thought this could happen, yet Trixie seemed more than serious.
"What? Why?"
"I can't work with you anymore"
"What did I do? I can't bother hiring someone new again" Katya complained, trying to play off how much it affected her.
"I can't stand you"
"Well nobody does. But they get used to it"
"I won't" Trixie sighed.
"Why?"
"Because I want to punch you in the face and kiss you at the same time." The blonde replied. She would not talk to Katya after this so she might as well be honest.

"I could do without the violence" Katya smiled and got closer to Trixie.
"No. Don't touch me. Goodbye Zamo" The woman said and left her resignation on Katya's desk. Katya looked down at it and felt like she failed Trixie. If she was able to handle her emotions she would've taken her out and did the normal things people do when they like each other. But it was complicated in her mind. Trixie was now just another one on the list of women who could've been someone in her life, that she pushed away or deceived. The worst part was that Trixie would still work in this hospital, and Katya would probably see her every day in the corridors or at the cafeteria. She also had to announce the news to her colleagues, and to Cuddy, who would give her another rant about how she needs to be more open and find a girlfriend. Katya was already tired. She ripped Trixie's departure form and threw it in the trash.

Apparently she informed her colleagues that she was leaving because none of them asked why she wasn't here. And she must've also told Cuddy, who was waiting in front of Katya's office when she came back from lunch. Katya tried to backtrack and disappear before her boss caught her, but Cuddy grabbed Katya's arm and led her to her office like a misbehaving kid.

"You know what I'm about to say. So either stay here for 45 minutes while I reiterate my speech, or go talk to Mattel." Cuddy said sternly.
"She's a grown woman. If she decides to quit I'm not gonna run after her"
"This is not about her job Katya. It's about you. She likes you. You like her. How complicated can it be?"
"Very. And you don't know what's going on in her head. Or in mine"
"Stop making up excuses." Cuddy snapped, leaving the room.

Katya's pride and ego were telling her that all of it was too dramatic, and that she wasn't going to chase Trixie or beg her to give her a chance. She picked her head up when Wilson barged in the room.

"Katya." He said harshly.
"If you came in here to scold me Cuddy already did, thank you"
"Trixie was so excited to be working with you and you ruined everything. This was her dream job"
"It's not like I fired her!"
"No, it's worse. She esteemed you so much and you managed to scare her away"
"Expectations are just premeditated resentments" Katya stated.
"Do I have to bring her here or will you get your ass up and go be a lady?"

Katya rolled her eyes and stood up. Wilson held the door open for her and smiled. Katya walked towards the pediatric department while thinking about what she was going to say. She asked a nurse where Mattel was and went to the examination room the man indicated to her.
