"As you are well aware, it's time for the annual American football match with Mystic Falls High." Vardemous said, making the school groan.
"Great." Kaleb muttered.
"Today, you will not be forced to lose a game so that humans can feel superior. Every one of you is special. Every one of you. And it's time you showed it." Vardemus said, making the school cheer greatly.
Josie stood up. "How?"
"By using your powers in moderation, Ms Saltzman. The goal is not exposure, merely to win. Think of it as an exercise in control."
"Well, I am here for it. After last year, it'll feel really good to show those Timberwolves what we're all about. Right?" Kaleb said, making people around him agree.
"And who better to lead you in this endeavor, as your quarterback, than our own Landon Kirby?" He tossed the ball at Landon, who fumbled it and dropped it on the ground.
"Oh god. He's here." Skylar muttered, trying to hide behind Jed.
"Who's here?"
"Ethan Machado." Skylar motioned to him as Jed's eyes trailed over to him.
"He's...okay." Jed shrugged. "Not really my type."
"Forget it. I need someone that understands." Sky rolled her eyes as she noted a slightly red headed girl behind Ethan get off the bus. She had to admit that she was, if not more, fine than Ethan.
As the Stallions cheated themselves to victory, Sky sat next to Lizzie and watched while the Timberwolves tied them up.
"Okay, since you guys can't seem to stop Captain America or not fumble a kickoff, our lead is bleeding like a stuck pig. But fear not. I'm super absorbent." Lizzie said as she was put in with Sky.
"Uh, the hell's that supposed to mean?"
"It means we're gonna play-action, all nines, bootleg left center deep cross. Make that a bootleg right. That's my good side." Lizzie glanced to the side as Sky did the same, trying to find what she was looking at.
Kaleb scoffed."Whatever. As long as we're playing it straight."
"Uh, what do, what do I do?" Wade asked.
"You go long, Wayne. Real long."
"It's Wade, actually."
"You still go long."
"All right. Ready?
"Break!"
Sky defended Ethan. "Sorry for what I'm about to do."
"Back to you." Ethan smiled. When they started, Sky tried to push back Ethan, but he pushed her down, snatching the ball from Josie and scoring a touchdown.
As Lizzie ran off, MG called out. "I'm on it."
"No, MG wait!" Josie called.
Sky placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'll be QB, I just need someone to back me."
"Maya." Sky smiled as she lined up in front of her.
Maya smirked. "You're looking really hot in that." She checked her out.
"And your looking like you're on the floor." Sky charged forwards when they started the play, knocking her onto the floor and ending up on top of her.
Sky glanced down, her dark brown hair, falling next to her face as she stared at Maya's eyes.
Maya panted out, her arms spread on the grassy field. She smirked as the tension grew. Maya leaned upwards, right before a yell was heard. Then a crack. Both of them looked up, seeing Ethan collapsed on the floor.
"Ethan!" Sky and Maya yelled at the same time as Sky got up and rushed over to him. "Ethan! You okay?"
"No, stupid." Ethan said sarcastically through the pain.
"Get a medic!" Alaric yelled.
"Just hold on." Sky encouraged as his mom rushed over to help him.
When the ambulance finally left, a crack was heard behind them as the students turned around to find that Alaric had punched the new headmaster. It caused a riot in between the two teams.
Sky muttered a spell, making the two teams fly apart from each other.
"Stop it Right now!" Dorian yelled from in between them.
Of course the Mystic Falls students were shaken by the big gust of wind, so they started to one by one walk to their bus and board it.
As Skylar sat on her bed, reading another book, she noticed a small box under the unoccupied bed.
She stood up, swiftly walking across, kneeling down, and pulling the box out from under.
Of course, there was a lock on it. Sky muttered "Dissero." Making the lock click and then unlock.
She pulled open the small chest looking box, finding a folded up note inside.
I'm not sure if you're reading this, but if you are, something bad happened when I went to go find Landon. I'll need you to keep going with your life. I believe in you, Sky. I know that you needed me at a young age as a role model, and you've grown into an amazing young woman. You might not remember me, but I'll always love you as my sister.
