"At least the contract is worded better," Cœur whispered to Finley as they around a circular table, the contract to the tournament was rewritten after a whole week. It was a surprise that the minister even bothered sending new contracts, the tournament was binding it wasn't like they could back out, Finley tried that.
"They made a typo," Draco points out, raising his contract revealing a typo on his name. "It's Lucius, not Luscious. I'm flattered, but I'm not a narcissist."
"That's debatable," Finley mumbled under her breath before snorting into a fit of giggles.
"Did you say something, Potter?"
"Don't worry your luscious hair and your pretty brain," she says, giving him a mocking smile on her face.
The amount of new parchment they had was oddly less than the first roll of parchment presented to them at selection night, the 105 very specific clauses came in to 5 erasing the 100 clauses. It was amusing how the three of them would go head to head for their school's reputation and their eternal glory or whatever, but here they were joking around with the clauses of a contract on what to expect if they all died.
"Why don't they just add the feature of placing me on a ship and setting it on fire when I die, at least let me go down in glorious flames," Finley read her contract, signing it after reading all of it to be right. Right after signing all these contracts, it was going to be the publications segment of being a champion.
"Are we getting Skeeter after this?" Finley whispers to Draco, glancing up at the Minister and a few aurors in the room. "I heard that she was vile during interviews."
"Who's Skeeter?" Cœur whispered along curiously, putting down her quill for a brief second. "Is that the press the Minister called for? Are we getting our photos taken?"
"You shouldn't be this enthusiastic with that leech," Draco sneered at the name, shivering before finishing up his signatures. Pushing his papers forward for the aurors to take and give to the Minister, while Finley and Cœur read through and finished signing themselves.
"I heard that woman asked so many vile things about the champions 3 years ago."
"And where did you hear that exactly?" Draco raised his brow at Finley, seeing a more gossipy side to her was amusing him, aside from being intrigued with what she knows that is.
"Cedric," Finley shrugs, finally finishing her parchment stack.
"And what are your relations with this Cedric person?" Cœur asked just as intrigued, pushing the parchments forward and leaning on Finley's shoulder. "Spill the piping hot tea here, Potter, we're friends here."
"Pft, Friends?" Draco scoffs before shutting up, feeling the deathly glares from the girls beside him. "What?"
"Really?" Cœur deadpanned. "After that night under stars and laughing at the Minister, you're not even going to consider us friends?"
"Well we're playing as opponents here Mademoiselle Argent, you can't blame me for keeping my enemies closer," he shrugs, dusting off his uniform for a brief second.
"Why you—" Before the french girl could attempt at strangling the blond boy, Finley separates the two by standing up, handing in the finished parchments to the aurors waiting by the sides.
"Are you three done?"
"Yeah, thanks Tonks," Finley smiles at the pink haired woman.
"Oh, and to keep this thing between you and me?" The woman whispered, "Skeeter just gotten through a tough divorce, so if she suddenly fires up questions you don't want to answer, you can use that," Tonks winks at her before handling the papers.
