"Where's 'Brina?" Pete asks, yawning at the end of his question

"Where's 'Brina?" Pete asks, yawning at the end of his question. He ruffles through his bed head hair, smoothening it out so it can be presentable.

Valentina, in silk bathrobe, pours her husband a cup of coffee, "She took Henry out for a walk, but she also said she was gonna pass by the bodega for today's newspaper."

She slides the mug across the counter. She also fixes a plate of breakfast for him as well, placing it next to his drink.

Although he was in desperate need of caffeine and sustenance, Pete went to his wife first and gives her a good morning kiss.

"Well, I guesstimate that we have fifteen minutes until she returns," Pete says with a mischievous smile, "What if we... y'know?"

He presses himself against his wife's backside. With his hand, he moves her curls to the side and plants butterfly kisses down her neck.

Valentina bites her lip softly and lightly moans at his touch. She flips around and presses her lips against his. Even a decade later, they still gave each other butterflies. And as much as she wanted to keep going and move this to the bedroom, the wife knew that they would not be able to and removes herself.

"As tempting as that sounds, I'm gonna have to pass."

"What?! You never pass," her husband exclaims.

"Honey, we have a shitload to do for the day. I have a meeting with the directors, you have that conference call with Lorne, and then we have to make our dish for Sunday dinner."

"Okay, I guess we can reschedule," Pete says, "It's been awhile since we've spent time together. Not only as a family but just the two of us."

She leans over and kisses the tattooed man, "I'm sorry I haven't been around much. The season has been crazy, I didn't think I would be conducting rehearsals."

Pete pouts as he interlaces his hand with his wife's, "Do you think that they'll ask you to be the new ballet mistress?"

"Your guess is as good as mine," the dancer says, "Although...."

Pete raises an eyebrow and squeezes her hand, signifying that he's ready to hear whatever she has to say.

The door opens and in comes their daughter, holding her dog and newspaper in hand. Valentina relaxes as Sabrina unintentionally saved her from an intense moment.

"Hi Mom. Hi Daddy," she smiles widely.

"Good morning, peanut!" her parents say in unison.

"So, what's the verdict on today's crossword?"

"Finished in eight minutes, my new record!" Sabrina triumphantly announces. She does a little shimmy dance, almost similar to her father's.

They laugh at her giddiness and offer her coffee and breakfast. They bring their plates to the breakfast nook next to the patio. It's a beautiful display of fruits and jams, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hash browns.
