"More than you'll ever know." Lola's faint accent came out carefully so Jasper wouldn't hear the sorrow in her voice.
The sun began to rise as the Cullen's went their separate ways, while Lola and Winter went inside to get ready for the day before heading to school. Lola saw a red beat up truck pulling into the vacant spot closer to the building. Behind the wheel was a teenage girl, she'd never seen before they had started attending Forks High.
"We have a new girl beginning.' Lola nodded her head towards the girl as Winter parked the car in their normal parking place. "Any idea who she may be, sis?" Winter asked walking side by side with Lola, who only shrugged while they made the walk to first period. Parting ways halfway through the main hall. "See you in second period." Lola whispered to Winter, giving her a wink over her shoulder as she strode down the hall.
Winter walked into her first class, AP Calculus. Sitting in the back corner of the room, she laid everything out on her desk and began reading her favorite book as she waited for the bell to ring. Jasper sat in the desk beside her, a sly grin on his face. "The Great Gatsby, huh?" He asked under his breath.
Lola walked into her biology class and sat behind Edward, who turned his seat around to face her. "Beautiful morning, isn't it?"
Lola looked to the rain covered window before replying. "Marvelous" she replied in a semi-sarcastic voice. Thinking back on her time on the farm. Rolling in the grass as the sun beat down on her then human flesh. Her thought pattern was broken by Mike, one of her classmates, walking in chatting up the new girl."How you likin' the rain, girl?" He asked as he shook the cold rain drops of his hat over the new girls head. Edward turned his attention to the group of teens staggering in the door. The new girl, whose name is Isabella Swan; Lola quickly learned from overhearing the boys commotion, walked directly into the fans line of fire. Her human scent was strong as it floated not only to Edward but Lola as well. She inhaled the intoxicating smell and exhaled sharply as her mouth instantly began to water. Edward on the other hand was tense, his body locked in his chair as Bella made her way over to him and sitting directly beside him. Edward's resistance was strong but his desire for her blood was stronger. Lola knew he was struggling and decided to get him out of the room.
Lola grabbed a pencil as she stood, pushing her chair back in the process but as she took a step around the table, her foot caught the leg making her trip. "Ouch!" Lola hissed quietly as Edward turned towards her with a helping hand. "Are you okay?" He asked before standing beside her, holding her arm to support her. Shaking her head no, Lola then asked permission to see the nurse, with the help of Edward. Once they gathered their items, Lola and Edward left the classroom and ditched the rest of class.
It was finally lunch time where the Cullen's and the Moons gathered at their usual table, the farthest in the back corner. As each of them walked into the lunch room, Alice and Jasper walked in holding hands as they always did while Emmitt wrapped his arm around Lolas shoulders as they sat at the table. Edward and Winter weren't far behind but at the last minute, Winter walked over to Tristans table after seeing him sitting alone. "Winn!" Edward tried to stop her but Lola chimed in, "Let her be. She knows what she is doing, lad."
