"What's happened?" Lola asked her sister as they both followed the three men with their eyes until they disappeared into the woods. "I.. I was just.." Winter attempted to form a sentence but was left with only fragments. "And then he!! Ohh..." She let out a heavy sigh as she was dumbfounded on the entire endeavor. "Did he..touch you?" Lola asked in a hushed tone. Winter nodded in shame.
"So, what happened?" Lola asked in shock with a much louder voice.
"I'm unsure. It wasn't like any feeling I've ever had before. It was almost like lightning." Her brow furrowed in confusion as she paced the rooftop.
Edward was the fastest in the Cullen clan, but he was no match for Tristan. Edward reached an opening in the trees with Emmitt right behind him. The two searched the open space to find Tristan was nowhere to be found. Edward then attempted to read his mind only to hear his voice come directly behind him. "I don't want any trouble." The moment the words left his lips, Edward spun around and had him by the throat, Tristan's turtleneck was the only thing keeping Tristans abilitiesat bay. Emmitt kept an eye out for any possible accomplices. "What's the plan Edward?" He called out to his brother. Edward turned to Emmitt, "I'm not sure ye...wait...someone is coming. They're close." When he turned back go face Tristan he noted a smirk spread across his face. Edward let go, knowing Alice wasn't far away by now with Jasper quickly behind her. Both Cullen men stood on either side of Tristan, awaiting their siblings arrival.
Alice and Jasper split up at the cabin, Alice went to Edward as Jasper sat with the Moon sisters.
"Edward!!" Alice announced herself. She went to Edward's side, whispering a premonition she had. "We can't hurt him. I can't explain much but we NEED him." She looked him in the eyes, Edward then decided to see what she was talking about. "My sincerest apologies, Mr. Woods." He said in a serious tone, extending a hand to him. Tristan smiled widely, exposing his perfectly white teeth, before taking his hand into his own. The second their skin touched it was like raw power, Edward could hear the thoughts of people three times the distance of before. Tristan broke contact, leaving Edward stunned from feeling so much energy at once. It was at that moment Edward knew Tristan was someone to keep close, perhaps too close.
Jasper approached the sisters cautiously, as he could feel not just the strong lust but pure stress radiating from both. He found each Moon extremely fascinating and uniquely beautiful. He approached Lola first.
"What happened?" His strong southern accent was pleasant to both the sisters their ears.
"The information I gathered was, 'I was just. And then he. Ooh.' Other than that." Lola shrugged.
"Alright." He replied grinning, trying to stifle his laughter. Walking up behind Winter, Jasper extended his hand and grabbed her hand midair. The moment their skin made contact, Jasper immediately felt the effects of Winters gift. Winter on the other hand was feeling the emotions of her nervous sister, Edward's confidence and Emmitt's thrill seeking radiating off both of the men. Winter ripped her hand from Jasper's, watching him weakly fall to his knees with bewilderment across his face.
"Wha.. What was that?" He asked, closing his eyes to stop his surroundings from spinning.
"My sincerest apologies." She replied as she quickly fiddled to get her gloves on. "I honestly had no intention of you experiencing that. I hope you can forgive me." Winter leaped from the rooftop into the trees.
"Here." Lola said extending her hand to Jasper. "It's best to just 'walk it off' as they say." She finished, helping him to his feet.
"Have you ever felt that?" He asked.
"More times than I'd like to admit." She replied.
"Does it get any easier?"
"A little, for a few years we tried to build up our tolerances, to no avail."
"It's hard not being able to hug your sister, isn't it?"
