Winter made her way to the parking lot, only to find the extremely tall, dark stranger leaning against her Jaguar. Pivoting her head side to side, scanning the parking lot for any witnesses, she quick ef ned her pace. With too many students visible, Winter was unable to confront the stranger and reached a lone car with a note under the windshield wiper blade. When she went to unfold the parchment, Lola appeared seamlessly out of nowhere and standing at Winters side.

"What's that?" Lola asked. Winter shrugged as she opened the small note.

"Well let's hear it."

"Snow, I have spent millennia searching for your beauty. There is much for you to learn, join me at sundown at the riverside just beyond your cabin.

 Come alone,

Your creator." The last words lingered in her ears.

"Uh, Winter?"

"What?" Sounding defeated.

"Look."

Winter looked in the direction Lola had been staring, to find a slew of vampires standing next to a jeep. Staring intently at the two sisters. "We have to find out what they can do." Lola stated, never breaking eye contact with Emmitt. "Lola!" Winter whispered loudly in her direction. Breaking her trance. The drive home was quiet and tense. Both knew that there was a stranger watching their secluded cabin. What they couldn't understand was how he was so close to their property without Lola seeing him.

They remained silent for most of the night. Unknowing of his abilities and location made tensions rise. When morning came without any interruptions through the night, they both relaxed a tiny bit. Lola checked the weather to discover the forecast reading thunderstorms all day. "Yes!!" She exclaimed before running for her favorite outfit. "I may remain here for the day." Winter told her sister. "I just want to have a day of hunting." She stated before looking to Lola, revealing her solid black eyes. "Be careful." Lola replied while hugging Winter, then headed out the door for school. She arrived at school in record time, nervous about facing the day without her sister by her side. And like she called his name, Emmitt opened her car door. "Don't worry, Sweetness. With your sister preoccupied, I can keep you company today." He greeted her with a stunning grin across his chiseled face. "How did.." before she could finish her question, he answered.  "I asked my brother to see how your morning was." Emmitt looked at the ground as he spoke, reminding her of a shy child as he kicked the gravel at his feet lightly. "Telepath." She said. "What other abilities are in your clan?" Lola asked him in a hushed voice, as they walked into the school together. Emmitt didn't give Lola an answer, knowing the rest of his family might not appreciate freely giving such personal information.

Winter dawned her favorite full hooded black cloak. With the hood up she stepped out of the backdoor at a run and her feet didn't stop until she reached the riverbank. Upon arrival she spotted a large bear just beyond the treeline opposite side of the river. Winter silently scaled up the nearest tree, leaping from treetop to treetop before descending directly onto the bears back. The two struggled intensely, slamming each other around until the bear finally succumbed when Winters teeth sunk deep into its jugular. A sigh of relief hummed in her throat as the thick blood showered her senses. Once she had her fill, she felt someone watching her. Spinning around to be inches from his face. The face she hasn't even been able to put a name to. The face she thinks about often but could never understand why and would never admit. His bare hand reached out for her face but she pulled away, fearing what could happen. "What is the matter, Countess? Was the grizzly not enough? I must admit,  I'm quite impressed with your hunting abilities." His baritone voice soothed her soul. "I have a not-so-popular ability." She replied in a soft tone. His stare was so magnetic, it compelled her to meet his gaze. "What's your name?" Winter asked before he had a chance to interrogate her. He looked down into her large golden eyes, slowly inching his body closer to hers.

"So what are you doing tonight Sweetness?" Emmitt pried, hoping for a good response. "Cause I was thinking..." before he could finish his statement Edward interrupted. "Don't worry about your sister. She's..." Edward stopped midsentence with a look of concern slowly drifting across his face. Immediately Lola recognized a strange coincidence. With Winter having the theft ability, Lola always found it odd how easy it was to find her sister. But Lola realized that the tall stranger was invisible to her own abilities and possibly able to blind her from others. Edward leaned over, whispering into Emmitts ear before he abruptly stood from the desk and disappeared into the hall. "What's going on?" Lola asked, certain they were keeping something vital from her. Emmitt looked down before meeting her gaze. "Will you come to my house tonight?" He asked her in a hopeful tone. Lola pondered the question, finding herself mesmerized by his radiant grin.
