Prompt: 42. "Everything is okay now, I'm here, I'm here."

So you just obliged and gave him your purse, hoping he'd leave you alone. But that's when you made a mistake - you looked straight into his eyes. And he had something which could lead you to recognize him - he had heterochromia and a scar going across his other eye. The mugger immediately realized why you were staring at his eyes, and he panicked, shooting you on your stomach, but visibly regretting it just after blood had started to dye your shirt.

"Shit, shit, shit..." he muttered while wringing his hands together as you collapsed on the ground. It was like he had thought of calling an ambulance to you, but he still chose to flee, leaving you to die.

Death was a scary thought especially if you got into a situation like this - feeling the life slowly leaving your body. Blood staining your shirt, causing you to think over all your decisions - and your thoughts came across Jason. He had already lost so much, and now he was losing you too. Would your death bring him to the dark side? Finally giving into himself and starting to kill people, like Bruce had been fearing?

With your blurred vision, you saw a figure running closer before he knelt down next to you, hugging your body against him. You tiredly smiled at Jason and grabbed his hand with the little strength you had.

"Jason..." you whispered his name, but he shook his head, knowing what you were going to say.

"Everything is okay now, I'm here, I'm here. I couldn't get here sooner, I'm sorry." he swallowed and you smiled.

"I understand, little brother." you muttered and closed your eyes for a moment, hearing only how Jason was fiddling with something and then you felt pressure on your stomach.

As the world started spinning and darkening, you heard Jason's voice echoing in your ears, "Hold on just a little while longer sister... you're getting home, I promise. I'm taking care of you, just like you've taken care of me."
