A crowd of people were gaping at the sight behind the police tape - broken windows and blood puddles on the ground. People had been shot, a maniac had bought a pistol when his partner had left him. He had been obsessed with his partner, and now when he had realized they weren't coming back... he had decided to ruin other lives as well, just as his partner had ruined his.

And as Dick was talking with the suspect, knowing he's mentally ill and needs treatment, he saw a bloodied, but familiar face pass by.

"Y/N?" Dick saw you laying on a bed whilst nurses were taking you to an ambulance. "Y/N!"

You didn't hear him as you had passed out from pain but the nurse pushed Dick back and nodded at him. "She's alive, don't worry. She's going to turn out fine."

But having to see your face - your bloodied and swollen face - made Dick's guts turn around, as he turned to the suspect with rage in his eyes.

"You almost killed my girlfriend too, you shithead." he growled and proceeded to punch the suspect, who yelped as he fell from the chair to the ground. But as soon as that happened, some of the other detectives ran to the scene to restrain Dick.

"Mr. Grayson, we need you to calm down!" one of Dick's colleagues tried to pull him away from the shooter, but as Dick fought back, some more detectives were required to push him back.

"You heard all that crap you're going to get help? Oh I just meant I'm going to make sure you'll be in the prison for a long time." Dick growled as he finally gave up with fighting back, knowing it just would make the situation worse, and the shooter glared at him. "A very long time."
