Seeing her slump over the fallen tower seemed like it happened in slow motion. You ran to her, screaming her name, your fellow Titans team following close behind. You looked at her laying there, and for a moment you thought that maybe she was just sleeping, maybe she just needed rest, you'd bring her back to the tower and hope she'd be okay.
But at the same time your brain reasoned with your heart, was telling it that she wasn't sleeping. That she was gone. That she wouldn't be coming back. You'd never hear her laugh again, or see her smiling when you leaned across the kitchen counter to give her a kiss. It was all gone. Even the smallest things you always repeated in your relationship had turned into memories, which you would never be able to relive.
You had always kept her close, and loved her the most. But in the end, it wasn't meant to be.
