It had been 2 weeks since the accident, not that long, but for Michael it felt like forever. She was still asleep, no changes. He had stayed with her all the time she had been in the hospital. He wouldn't leave, no matter what anyone said. He was missing shows, interviews, everything. He barley noticed, though. He only noticed her. "Mate, you've gotta leave here." Michael band mate and best friend, Luke, stated. "you look rough." He did. Michael hasn't slept, eaten, showered or shaved for days. The red of his hair had faded and he was back to his natural color. A great change, if he was still living his life to the fullest. "C,mon dude." Luke persisted.
Silence.
"Seriously."
Silence.
"Is this what she would've wanted?" He asked softly.
That one got Michael. No. This isn't what she would want. No matter what he had done she would want him to be out, performing, meeting fans, living. But she was in a coma now. She couldn't tell him what to do anymore. "leave." Michael stated
"Mike-" Luke began.
"Leave." Michael raised his voice.
"I don't-"
Leave!" Michael shouted.
Luke shrank away in a way that reminded Michael of her. He looked at Luke, tears brimming in his eyes.
"I just, need some alone time. To...y'know, think things over. Think about what I want to do with myself." He gazed over at her, lying in that bed, in this dull room with those machines surrounding her. she wouldn't want any if that. He knew that for certain.
"Okay." Luke mumbled. "but, call me 'kay. Tell me if you need something, anything. Y'know I'm here for you Mate, right?"
"Yeah."
"Cool, hey, stay safe." Luke patted Michaels back, then left Michael pondering over his life.
