I was spinning in my chair listening to my new song NASA when my phone buzzed again. A few days ago Pete Davidson had DMed me and we've talking ever since. I obviously wasn't over Tom just yet but Pete was a nice distraction from the heartbreak.
I had lost two of the most special people in my life in the span of two weeks. The whole in my heart probably would never be filled but Pete allowed me to pretend even if only for a few minutes.
"Alex!" I looked up to see everyone staring at me. "So what did you think? Does the song need tweaking or is it good?" I leaned forward and set my phone down "let me hear the chorus again".

"Pause" I grabbed Toulouse off the ground and leaned back into my chair "replay it please" I listened to it more intensely. The song was about me, Tom and Mac. I wanted the song to be fun but I also wanted you to understand the pain.
"Ok I like it" they all cheered and my phone went off again. Pete sent me another unlikely animal friendship. I laughed at the duck and monkey rather loudly. I stood up and Pete texted me.
