Y'all I've been working on this chapter and the next for like a million years and I'm not happy with it but I wanted to put something out for you guys!

Uhhhh some updates.. I've been struggling with some new medication and my body like HATES me for it lol so I've been getting sick a lot which has kept me from writing.

I'm also losing my mind trying to plan my wedding 😂 I'm going to try on dresses in two weeks and I'm so excited!

Anyway vote, comment, send me chaotic messages, I'll accept it all 🥺 love you friends!

"It feels like just yesterday we were winning at beer pong."

I laugh as I push the stroller up to the entrance of Ramen Ichiraku.

"Mommy, what's beer pong?" Nikko looks up at me and I hear Genma chuckle beside me.

"It's a really boring game that adults have to play for work." I tell her.

Her nose scrunches up and she shakes her head.

"Yuck!"

We find a table in the back of the restaurant and Genma helps Nikko into her seat as I sit across the table from her.

"Can you believe how much has changed since then?" I ask him as I take out Nikko's coloring book and crayons from the diaper bag.

She pours the box out on the table and immediately searches for the pink crayon.

"Nope. Not at all." He says. "Gotta miss those carefree days when we all got drunk together."

"What's drunk, mama?"

She doesn't even look up as she continues coloring so I choose to hide my giggle and quietly ignore her.

Luckily, she doesn't push the question.

"You're teaching my kid a lot of new things today." I laugh as his face grows bright red.

"I'm sorry. I'm not good with kids." He shakes his head and nervously pulls on the collar of his shirt.

"Sure you are. Nikko likes you enough to invite you out to lunch." I give him a soft smile from across the table and his face perks up a bit.

"So, how's Kakashi?"

I'm not sure why the question suddenly makes me feel guilty.

But Genma and I aren't doing anything wrong. Besides Kakashi and I have total trust in one another and we're always honest with each other.

There's nothing wrong with having lunch with a friend.

"Um, he's good. He's been really busy. Hasn't really been home too much."

Genma looks back at me with a serious expression as he listens.

"But that's the life, you know. The stuff he's doing is vital in keeping the village safe."

"Daddy's a hero." Nikko says proudly as she smiles hard enough that her dimples make an appearance.

"He absolutely is, baby."

She pauses and looks over at some children a few tables down, her face brightening when she sees them.

"Can I go say hi? Those are my friends from school!"

I see the kids wave to her and I nod my head, giving her approval as she struggles to get down from her chair.

I take a sip from my water and wait for Genma to say whatever is making him stare at me so intently.
