Chapter 5

[A/N: I would like to apologize for the late update, it has been a rough sicky days. Also thank everyone for patiently waiting and giving me time to write this chapter, as well as for the 10k reads! I'm somewhat feeling better and was able to fix this up. Enjoy!]

Ray decided to wake up a little earlier than usual to prepare breakfast for her and Yuno, in hopes that at least at the start of the day he wouldn't be upset or disappointed or worse take back what he said about letting her out more. She turned on the music jamming to April's songs, and started thinking about the easiest thing to cook but was also flipping through a cookbook. The amount of things she picked up again because of being stuck in the house was crazy and the hobbies she picked up. There were tabs she put on her favorite foods, maybe some Buttermilk pancakes and fruit, Waffles and fruit, or just fruits but blended.

"No, I have to make an effort for this, let's do some buttermilk pancakes and cute cut up fruits." She put on an apron and started gathering up the ingredients for them; egg, flour, buttermilk, butter, baking powder, and sugar. Took out the bowls and got to work.

2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, ½ teaspoon salt, and 2 cups of buttermilk in a big bowl and whisk together. Then whisk in the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract, with the dry ingredients.

"April Fooze - pullin all these dudes

Ain't no man in this city that I don't know how to use

Ain't nobody gon' tell a bad bitch like me what to do,

Cause if you even try, well we gon' call you April's Fool."

She started to dance around as she let the batter rest. And out of nowhere April was on the opposite side of the marble island giving Ray an almost heart attack as she admired as Ray was jamming and joined in.

"Only a fool would mess with me"-R

"April Fooze - exploiting all these dudes."-A

"Stare at the crown and bend the knee"

"Ain't no man in this city that I don't know how to use."

"I'm a queen climbin', dealin' in diamonds, only a fool would mess with me."

"Cause if you even try, then we gon' call you April's Fool."

"Look at you popping off and singing. You know we can still release the song we were working on if you really want to. No one even knows about it besides me and you."

"Yeah no, no one needs to know about that. What are you doing here so early in the morning by the way?"

"Well I know you're in trouble, I had that feeling ya know when you and Randy sped off last night before we could all celebrate together having everyone not DNF actually."

"Since you're here, might as well eat breakfast with us, 12 pancakes altogether, 4 for each of us. Wanna help me cut some fruits?" April nods, she cuts up the apples into bunnies, while Ray makes strawberries into bears.

"Do you think he'd be really mad at me or disappointed in me?" Ray asks as she puts the toothpick in the strawberry to keep it together. And before April could answer, Yuno walks in.

"I am neither mad nor am I disappointed in you. Just a little frustrated because we've done everything we can do to try and keep you safe and alive but you ke-" he sighs "I know you want to be out. I know I shouldn't be keeping you in the house. But Minty, you can't be too hasty. We're trying to keep you safe, we don't know how long it's going to take for you to recover fully." he says coming into the kitchen, taking a seat by the head of the dining table as the girls bring what they made on the table sitting across from each other.
