The two women sat on the couch, legs folded beneath them as they faced each other.
"So," Wanda started, not knowing where to begin despite requesting the conversation.
"I'll just ask you a question, and you ask me one. Does that work?" Natasha suggested.
"Sure."
"Okay, where did you go?"
"Scotland."
"Why?"
"Well, around a week or two after you left, Vision showed up here."
"Vision?"
"Uh huh. He said he wanted to check on me after he heard about the breakout from the Raft."
"Right..." Natasha encouraged her to continue.
"He offered me to come and stay with him, and I didn't think there was any reason to stay here so I went."
"What was it like?"
"It was okay."
"But?"
"But, it wasn't right. It wasn't the same being anywhere without you."
"That's sweet."
Wanda smiled brightly, before returning the question. She was aware there were parts of the story she omitted, and knew she would tell Natasha how Vision felt, but she just didn't want to burst their bubble right away.
"When I left here, I called Yelena first. She didn't answer but I guess you know that now since she showed up here."
"Yeah, she did. I thought it was you with her having blonde hair."
"Was that a good thought or a bad thought?"
"Then? Bad. Last night, I thought it was Yelena here and not you."
"Please don't tell me you were actually coming back to confess your love for my sister?"
Wanda lightly tapped Natasha on the arm, "No! I was hoping it was her because I needed her to find you. I didn't think you were ever going to come back here."
"I didn't think you wanted me to."
"Why did you?"
"Yelena," Natasha laughed at the coincidence, "She called me and told me that you were gone, and well that alongside something else that happened kind of made me realise that I should be with you."
Natasha wondered if Wanda picked up on how vague she was being. Of course she did.
"What do you mean, what else happened?"
Natasha sighed, "No secrets right?"
"Right?" Wanda replied with a little uncertainty.
"Don't freak out."
"You're freaking me out, just tell me."
"Steve, Sam and I were in Japan and one of us needed to meet a contact who had some leads on Hydra agents," Natasha began, keeping her voice level,"I volunteered because well I needed away from the guys. So, off I went and I waited at the bar and well, the contact was Maria Hill."
Wanda's eyes remained green, thankfully, but her ears flushed red at the top. Natasha noticed, and wondered if that was a new tell, or an old tell that she hadn't pissed her off enough to see before.
"Did anything... Did anything happen?" Wanda asked, clearly scared of the answer.
"No," Natasha put a hand out to rest on Wanda's leg, "Absolutely not. She did try it, I'm not going to lie, and I also won't lie and say it wasn't tempting for a second, but that was only because I thought that was it for us. I was lonely, but seeing her that way only made me more sure that regardless of how over I thought we were, you were it for me. I didn't want anyone else but you."
