[THIS CHAPTER MIGHT BE THE MOST GRUESOME ONE I HAVE WRITTEN YET, SO... TRIGGER WARNING...? MAYBE...? I DON'T KNOW.]

We rushed to the hospital on foot, which was about five blocks away from the apartment complex.  In the middle of the street, men, women, and children ran the other direction. Parents were ushering their kids inside buildings, and those in the buildings shut their blinds to make it look like nobody was there. At this point, this safety procedure would not be effective. If the streets were cleared, it would be obvious where everyone was. We were honked at, which made us move to the sidewalk. Trucks printed with green and brown camo bolted past us. I figured this was Jack and his soldiers trying to 'take care' of the situation.

Once the double-doored entrance was in sight, we were halted to a stop by the sound of three pops, and one shriek from a woman. I nearly tripped over my own feet. A sudden wave of guilt washed over me, as if everything that had went down in that hospital building was my own fault. I was the first to open the door, seeing already through the glass windows the blood splatter in the waiting room. The room was empty, the walls were almost in the exact same condition as we had left them this morning, clean and white. There was a bloodied mess caused by a man crawling on the floor. He was using his upper body strength to move forward, his pants drenched in red, his legs seemingly limp. He was wearing doctor scrubs.

"Jesus!" I exclaimed as me and Shayne rushed to his side.

Hyperventilating, he screamed at the sight of us. "St-Stay back!" He pointed a scalpel. I immediately wrapped my hand around his as he was holding it, and took it from him. He did not resist, since he did not have the energy. He also did not look frightened after he got a good look at us. I assumed he knew who we were, just like everyone else.

"Where is he now?!" Ming questioned, standing over us. "Where is the man who did this to you?!"

"Down the hallway to the right... I think... AGH, my knees! He got my knees!"

Ming ran off, and Shayne called after her. I grabbed his arm, catching his attention. "I'll stay here and help him. You go follow Ming!"

He nodded, and took off, nearly slipping at first.

The doctor was mortified, groaning and gasping as the blood exiting his legs grew in size. I helped him take off his scrubs and placed it on top of his knees. I raised him upright so he was in a sitting position, then helped drag him to the wall so he could rest his back. "Apply pressure on it." I said, placing my hands on top of his. The blood quickly soaked the once pearly white clothing. I had no medical expertise, but I realized I was talking to a doctor. He was in so much shock that he was not thinking through his situation.

"Doctor, you have to focus! Tell me what I can do to help you. Are there any bandages? Doctor? Doctor?!" I patted his cheek as he was hyperventilating, grieving in pain. It was as if I was trying to wake him up from a trance.

"B-Behind the counter... in a drawer..." He finally said. He was sobbing at this point. "Please, hurry! And wrap them tight!"

I bolted to the front desk and searched through the many drawers behind the counter. "What do they look like?! What do they look like?!" I repeated constantly, scattering all the papers, pill bottles, tools, and boxes.

"Blue box... has the word 'Bandages' in white letters."

After finding them, I went back to the doctor's side, falling to my knees. At this point, it looked like he was in and out of consciousness. I was not sure if he would survive another second. "Stay with me!" I said, flipping over the cover of the box. I rolled out the bandages and began with his right knee, ignoring the large clots of blood smearing my hands as I wrapped his limb until it was snug. "Is it too tight?!"
