the next day, senna was woken up by the sound of fire blasting. she forced herself awake, rubbing her eyes and face and glanced around.

zuko was still passed out beside her.

"zuko," she said softly, shaking him a little.

he opened his eyes a little and looked at senna who was smiling down at him, "did you hear that?"

and then there was another. the two firebenders looked at each other and ran out of the room, joining the others.

aang was already in action. he was jumping on the roofs of the houses and temples, using his gilder to airbend away some of the incoming bomb things.

senna looked up at the sky and saw a airship with a fire nation crest on the side of it and it was coming right toward them. that's where the bombs were coming from.

more bombs were launched as the rest of the gaang ran out of the buildings. the explosives destroyed some of the western air temple. senna tried her best to bend the bombs away but there was too many.

the group all met up at the campsite where sokka and kataras dad and other people who were saved from the failed invasion attempt were waiting.

toph and some random earthbender had made a tunnel for the group to pass through.

"come on! we can get out through here!" toph shouted, over the blasts.

senna bite her lip and watched katara and the rest of the people follow her in. she hated tunnels with a passion. sokka noticed and grabbed her hand, "come on we need to get somewhere safe."

but before the two could go in, senna turned to make sure zuko was behind her and he wasn't. he was standing in front of the airship.

"zuko, come on!" senna shouted at the boy who turned toward her.

"go ahead! i'll hold them off. i think this is a family visit," he said, running off toward the airship.

"zuko no!" aang yelled after him.

katara heard the commotion and stopped moving forward and came back to see what was going on.

"come on! we gotta get out of here!" she yelled.

zuko ignored her and still chased after the airship.

"no!" senna cried, trying to run after him but she was stopped by sokkas arm around her waist, holding her back, "let me go! i can help him!"

sokka rolled his eyes, holding onto senna tighter, "come on, we need to get appa to the tunnel! he'll be fine."

senna pushed past him and helped aang. sokka just sighed and helped his sister pull on appas reins, trying to make him move but he wouldn't.

senna tried her hardest to convince appa, saying that it would be okay and that she as well is scared of tunnels and she'll stay with him the whole time but still nope.

the princess walked away from appa and saw a fight happening between zuko and azula. sennas hands formed into fists as she watched the girl firebend toward her brother.

"i can't get him to go in there! appa hates tunnels!" aang shouted to the others.

"we'll have to find a way!"

"we need to split up," sokka stated, turning to the others who had stopped in the tunnel, waiting for the groups next moves, "take the tunnel and get to the stolen airship."

"no!" katara yelled at her brother, "the fire nation can't separate our family again!"

senna rolled her eyes and laid against appa, watching zuko and azula fight. all she wanted to do was go and blood bend that bitch. she feared she'd hurt zuko.

"it'll be okay, it's not forever."

katara hesitated for a moment, before sighing and hugging her dad. she joined the rest of the group, standing next to aang.

toph walked over as well after closing the tunnel she created. she faced another wall, placing her hand on it to sense vibrations.

"i can clear that away and we can fly out through there!"

"there's an awful lot of fire in that general direction.." sokka mumbled.

"we'll get through. let's go," aang said with his positive attitude again.

appa rose into the air in which he was covered by some rock that toph casted around him as a shield from the blasts of fire and the bombs. azula then sent a powerful blast toward them, only to be blocked by the shield.

but this made it much harder for toph to hold and the shield fell into little pebbles.

"great going!" senna groaned, throwing her hands up in defeat.

the others all looked at her then at each other. she wasn't acting like herself at all.

appa was flying around the air crazily, trying to dodge the many attacks being launched from the airship. katara was using some of her bending water she had and defected the attacks.

senna on the other hand took control of the fire and launched it back at azula, before it almost hurt appa. she did it rather aggressive which was tiring her out.

she then watched the battle play out between the two siblings. they were both fighting on top of the airship, and it was a very even match. it could go both ways.

they both launched a strong attack, pushing each other off the airship and tumbling below. sennas eyes widened as zuko fell.

aang guided appa to fly under zuko and senna held out her hand which zuko grabbed and she pulled him onto appa.

zuko quickly looked over at his falling sister,
"she's...she's not gonna make it..."

everyone thought she was gone and were aboutta break out into celebration but azula shot fire from her feet and hands, using it as a jet. she brought herself to the side of the cliff, holding on, glaring at the group flying away.

"of course she did," zuko sighed, looking disappointed.

"there's nothing we can do about it," aang said, guiding appa away, "we're leaving."

and so they left, escaping the battle. senna sat in between sokka and suki, resting her face on her legs. all they could do was hope for the best for the others.
