Roseanne saw that there were quite a lot of customers visiting this store, and her desire to taste stinky tofu a try grew.
She turned back to Park Jimin, who was standing slightly further away due to the smell and approached him with a smile. "Do you want to have some? I'll buy a few so that we can taste it?"
Park Jimin glanced at her. "You've never had it?"
"Our lifestyle and social circle don't interact with such a place; how would I have the opportunity to come to a night market. It's the same as how you don't have the time to casually stroll through a place like this and taste the food here. I've frequently heard people mention that the stinkier it is, the yummier it is. I want to give it a taste. Will you have some?"
As she spoke, Roseanne turned back to make her purchase.
However, her wrist was caught as Park Jimin decisively pulled her back.
"It's best that you've never had it. It's not clean."
"Who says that it isn't it clean? Don't you see that there are plenty of people buying it? Have you had it before?"
"No.
"Then, why would you say that it isn't clean? I'll just give it a try; I won't buy too many..."
Park Jimin did not allow her to go. He wrapped his arm around her waist and brought her over, pressing against her back for them to leave. He took another glance at her resentful expression and spoke firmly with a heavy voice: "You're not allowed to have it."
"..." Roseanne was helpless. For someone like Park Jimin who had mysophobia, perhaps such a thing was truly hard to tolerate. She turned back to eye the various snacks being sold in the streetside stalls and whispered softly, as though she felt wronged, "I've never tried any of these, and you won't even let me have a taste. Earlier at the venue, I only managed to have three glasses of champagne. I didn't even eat anything. I'm really hungry right now..."
"If you're hungry, we'll go home for dinner. I'll cook for you, alright?"
Unfortunately, even though Great Boss Park offered to cook personally today, it was of no use.
"Hey, look at that lamb skewer! It looks so fragrant!"
"And that hot and numbing skewers..."
"Aiya! They have glutinous rice cakes too!"
"Park Jimin, Boss Park, Great President Park, Mr. Park... Hubby...Jagi...let me have a taste of some... I'll only have a little..."
Under Roseanne's constant coaxing and pestering, Park Jimin finally softened and allowed her to buy a small pack of handmade chocolate cookies from a streetside stall. She also bought several pieces of glutinous rice cakes. The oil-fried and barbequed food were completely banned. She was not allowed to have even a bite.
This place was especially crowded and dark. Roseanne stood amongst the crowd and quickly stuffed a pieced of glutinous rice cake into her mouth. She curved her eyes in a satisfied smile. "The snacks in a night market truly lives up to its name. It's so sweet."
Park Jimin glanced at her, as though watching a gluttonous child. He allowed her to follow behind, snacking as she pleased, while he held onto her hand and led the way. He planned to swindle her back to the main entrance of the venue after leaving the night market.
Roseanne stuffed another rice cake into her mouth, causing her cheeks to puff up into a round ball. Her eyes curved happily as she watched the tall silhouette in front of her.
Passing by such a place with Park Jimin, she felt as though she had hauled the man standing in the clouds down into the mortal world.
Naturally, several young ladies by the side were watching them with lovestruck expressions. Park Jimin was only quietly walking through the crowd, yet he appeared as eye-catching as ever. Seeing this, Roseanne could only wipe her lips and quickly catch up to him. She stayed obediently by his side.
"Ah, wait a minute!" Roseanne noticed a stall with beautiful clothes on display. The key was that she had worn one of the pieces in her previous life. For some strange reason, her heart skipped a beat. She stopped Park Jimin and subconsciously turned quickly to head over.
The owner of the stall saw her approach and warmly asked: "Which would you like? All of the clothes here are brought over from department stores. They're all branded, quality pieces that are highly demanded, and are made of good material. Miss, if you like it, choose as you please!"
Roseanne picked up a white t-shirt with words printed on it: "How much is this?"
"This piece, ah." The stall owner noticed that the quality of the clothes she wore was good and assumed that they weren't cheap. "Two hundred and eighty dollars."
Park Jimin, who stood behind, raised his brows. He realized that Roseanne was especially taken with the things sold at these roadside stalls tonight.
"Two hundred and eighty?" Roseanne chuckled.
Did the store owner think that she lacked knowledge about these things?
"That's right! Two hundred eighty, and no cheaper!"
"Sixty dollars. Are you selling it or not?"
The owner had never seen someone haggle so cruelly. His eyes immediately shifted back to the clothes Roseanne was wearing. With a cough, he answered, "That's too little. Final price, one hundred and fifty!"
Roseanne sneered and placed the shirt back into his hands: "Sixty. If you don't wish to sell it, forget it." As she spoke, she turned to leave.
The owner was originally thanking his lucky stars that he met such a wealthy customer. Who would have thought that this little lady was completely not taken by his tricks. He frantically said, "All right, all right. Can you add another ten? It isn't easy for me to do business, ah!"
Roseanne did not turn back. "Sixty."
"...all right, sixty dollars!" The owner helplessly called her back and handed the shirt to her.
Roseanne finally then turned back with a smile. She suddenly felt Park Jimin, the walking credit card machine, approach her from behind and quickly said, "This place doesn't accept cards. I'll pay by cash. Anyway, it's only sixty dollars."
Roseanne was beaming with bright eyes from the success of her bargain. As Park Jimin lowered his eyes to watch her, he felt strangely affected by her mood. A hint of gentle warmth appeared in his gaze.
In the evening, Uk was not as cold as in South Korea's winter. The air was only slightly cool, and the constant flow of people warmed up the place. The atmosphere was lively and cheerful.
Furthermore, the night market was adorned with colorful lights hung up high. It was pompous and tacky, yet it appeared down-to-earth, perfectly symbolizing the entertainment and warmth this place provided.
"How is it? It looks good, doesn't it?" Roseanne pressed the shirt against herself.
Park Jimin watched her delighted expression. His lips curved up as he chuckled softly. "You've never come into contact with a place like this market. Aside from those little snacks, you're actually interested in these types of clothes as well?"
Roseanne leaned her head against his arm. "Rather than these clothes, I'm more interested in bargaining with the stall owners. I say, I'm already giving into her plenty. Otherwise, I could have bought this shirt at forty dollars."
In her previous life, the identical shirt she had worn, the thin t-shirt of common quality, had been bought with exactly forty dollars.
Park Jimin sighed with a smile at her sudden desire to bargain. "You've worn clothes that are of the best quality, worth up to several tens of thousands of yuan. Are you sure you want to wear this?"
"It's not as if I've never worn it," Roseanne softly muttered.
Park Jimin's steps faltered. He lowered his eyes to look at her. "What did you just say?"
"I didn't say anything, ah. There are too many people coming and going here. You must have heard wrongly." Roseanne placed the t-shirt back into its bag and then brought out a chocolate biscuit from the other small bag. She took a bite and sent the remaining half to his lips. "Here, have a taste!"
