Chap279-Park Jimin call me

Roseanne immediately looked down at the phone number shown on the screen.

It was Park Jimin's number! She instantly jumped up from the bed and picked up the call as fast as she could. "Hello?"

The call was connected, but the other side didn't speak. She vaguely heard someone breathing on the other side, but the breath seemed to be far away from the cell phone.

"Hello?Jimin!" Roseanne held her cell phone tightly. "Where are you? Are you..."

"Beep—"

This call lasted less than five seconds before cutting off.

Roseanne's hands froze. She took a look at the screen. The call had been cut off for sure.

For some reason, her heart suddenly beat faster. She stared at the call record and suddenly rushed out of the bedroom, running to Ryujin's room and began to knock hard on the door.

Ryujin thought she had an accident. When she opened the door, she glanced warily out of the door, only to see Roseanne standing at the door nervously. Ryujin hurriedly walked out and looked behind her. "What's up? What happened?"

"A call, Ryujin, Jimin just called me..." Roseanne pointed to her cell phone. "Just now. One minute ago!"

Ryujin looked surprised at her and took her cell phone. When she saw that call record, she paused for a second and immediately went back to her room to make a call.

Roseanne followed her in. Ryujin told some people that Park Jimin called Roseanne just now. Then someone sent a software that Roseanne's hadn't ever seen to Ryujin's cell phone. Ryujin connected her cell phone to a computer, installed the software, and took Roseanne's cell phone to connect it to the computer as well.

Roseanne stood on the side and stared at the computer's screen. A map appeared on the screen with a marked red dot flickering somewhere on the map. It flickered and gradually faded away.

At the very moment Ryujin saw that red dot, she called someone. "We found Mr. Park's location several minutes ago. He is about five kilometers east of Tonlé Sap Lake in Cambodia. The coordinates are correct, and the signal has disappeared now."

After the call, Ryujin looked at Roseanne. "Fortunately, you told me in time so that we managed to find out his location before the signal was blocked. Now our men have hurried toward there. Mr. Park will come back safe and sound for sure."

Roseanne turned her eyes to the map on the screen where the red dot had disappeared. It was a map of Cambodia indeed.

"He didn't say anything in the call and hung up in several seconds. Are you sure... he is safe?" Roseanne stared at Ryujin's face. "If he is safe, why did he suddenly make this call but didn't say anything? Why did the signal disappear so soon?"

"Mr. Park's current location is a minefield. Even the Cambodian government can't control that area that has been occupied by drug trafficking groups of different countries. All signals from that area will be blocked, so technically no signal can be detected there. Why did Mr. Park suddenly call you? What did you do? Or..."

As Ryujin spoke, Roseanne glanced at her cell phone's screen, only to find the two messages she sent to him had been marked as 'Read.'

"I sent him messages, and he read them." Roseanne looked up at Ryujin.

Ryujin retook her cell phone and looked at the screen. "Perhaps Mr. Park happened to leave the area where all signals are blocked when you sent him the messages, but we don't know where he will go or be taken to. We have to find him as soon as possible. We have some people in Cambodia. Believe me, we will find him soon. Go to sleep and wait for the good news."

Go to sleep? How could she fall asleep?

Roseanne didn't reveal her emotion so as not to bring too much pressure to Ryujin. She turned to go back to her room with her cell phone.

"Mrs. Park, leave your cell phone to me. If Mr. Park contacts you again, I can detect his location immediately."

"All right."

Roseanne gave her the cell phone and walked out of the guest room.

She went back to her bedroom and looked around at the empty room where there was only her. It seemed that she could still hear the light, faintly discernible breath she heard during the four-second call.

Under what circumstances was he calling?

Roseanne leaned against the door and closed her eyes, trying to hold back the tears that were almost coming out. She dared not imagine what had happened to him.

Since he could still read her messages and even call her, it meant that he was still alive. In Cambodia, he was still alive!

He would come back safely!

Roseanne went to bed, but there seemed still to be that light, faintly discernible breath of his at her ears.

At night, the cold wind rustled outside the window. Roseanne rolled over and couldn't sleep.

Before dawn, Roseanne , who hadn't fallen asleep, suddenly heard some noise from outside. She immediately got up and quickly walked to the door. When she was about to push the door open, she heard two lowered voices outside.

"Miss Hwang, there's a car outside. The people in the car said they came to pick you up. And they told me not to wake up Mrs. Park." It was Auntie Shin's voice.

"Okay." Ryujin's voice was low too. "I may be away for a few days. Take care of Mrs. Park. Have two more people accompany her. Don't let her leave here. Better keep her waiting in the mansion for our news."

"Are you leaving? So urgent? Did anything happen, Miss Hwang?"

"Nothing serious, but Mrs. Park is pregnant. She was confirmed pregnant in the hospital yesterday. Remember not to let her run around. She needs more nourishing foods. It is daylight; I have to go now. Make a good breakfast for her," Ryujin said in a lowered voice.

"Mrs. Park is pregnant? God, I didn't know. She didn't tell me about this when she came back last night. Okay, I'm going to prepare her the tonics for pregnant women."

"Okay, and don't tell Mrs. Park about this car. If Mrs. Park asks about me when she wakes up, just tell her I have something to tend to and will come back soon. Don't let her worry about me."

"Okay, I see, Miss Hwang."

Then it came the sound of them walking down the stairs, and Auntie Shin asking Ryujin about Roseanne's pregnancy from time to time. After they went downstairs, she couldn't hear anything else.

Where was Ryujin going? She specially told Auntie Shin not to let her know she had left. Apparently, she wouldn't stay in Korea.

Where was she going? The US? Or... Cambodia?
