XENA'S POV      CHAPTER THIRTEEN

"Hey, you okay?" Daichi's head popped from behind the opened door, my feet dangled off the bed as I stared off into space.

"Oh, yeah I'm all good, what's going on?" he's someone who i barely interacted with at all since i've met everyone, he was the last person i expected to come check on me.

"Nothing, you just seem a bit out of it, do you want to talk about it?" he stepped to the side, his full body now on display. He offered a warm smile, though you could tell he was tired out.

He had been assigned his own work while being here, he trains constantly just in case anybody needs medical attention. He's heard to be the top in Tokyo, how spoiled are we to have him within our teams.

"I promise I'm okay, I'm just a bit tired, you never really get much of a break huh?" I chuckle quietly while patting the spot beside me. "A break? What's that?" his white teeth peaked through the pink tissue in a smile, his legs carried him to sit at the edge of the bed, legs hanging off like mine.

"That was pretty fucking awesome, I heard what you did. Though, I'm pretty sure Terushima will not stop that easily." admiration swiped over his face before it was replaced with a look of frustration.

"Thank you, it was pretty cool while it was happening." my face rested against my palm on my knee, glancing his way once more. The adrenaline from earlier was well gone, reality setting in as there was probably going to be an even bigger problem coming our way.

"What does he want?" my throat aired a soft, hushed tone. My teeth chewed on the inside of my cheek. "We don't even know, he's always been a sneaky son of a bitch." I simply responded with a small 'hm', still staring ahead of me.

"Whatever he wants, he won't get. You don't have to worry, everything will be just fine." his body turned to face me, offering a skin peeling grin. "I know." my lips spreading into a small grin on their own. His hand came up to pat my back comfortingly.

"Why don't we do something fun?" he stood up suddenly, the grin never leaving his face as he wiggled his eyebrows at me suggestively. That action made a laugh erupt from me, giggling at his childish antics.

"What do you have in mind doc?" he quickly rolled his eyes at the added nickname, raising a finger and pursuing his lips before responding. "I'm going to pretend you didn't say that and continue on with my life." Now, it was my turn to roll my eyes at him.

"Spit your idea out." I exclaimed as my patience ran thin. His eyes widened momentarily at my reply. "How do you feel about a little mini race?" he suggested, my eyes lighting with excitement at just the idea.

"Let's go!" standing up quickly, i practically dragged him out of the room to meet with the rest of the group.

"Okay so here's the rundown, 4 races, 2 racers on the track at a time. We will go around the track one time, and as soon as the winner from the previous race is back, the other two can take off. Now line up." Kuroo announced before jogging around his vehicle, we weren't even on an official track, it consisted of an old dirt road with twists and turns you're forced to drift through.
