The demon shrunk into the black puddle. The two gasped as the demon was gone, the ground broken and cracked from the blows. A footprint and hand print right where the two hit. The two grunted and looked up as the demon had a sickening smile.

The two were starting to run after the demon, but, "Nezuko! (Y/N)!" Tanjiro yelped out to the two demons. The two stopped and turned their attention to the boy. "No, don't chase him! Get back here!" Tanjiro ordered. "Come to me." He said. (Y/N) could feel her insides flutter, her stomach made it seem like she ate tons of butterflies and there all fluttering around. 

The (H/C) female grabbed Nezukos hand and ran back to Tanjiro. Just as they were close, the black puddle opened. "No! Nezuko, (Y/N)!" Tanjiro yelled. The demon growled and leaped up, not out of the puddle but enough to almost grab the two. 

(Y/N) and Nezuko jumped up, the demon missed. Both of them landed a front flip as they ran to Tanjiro. Tanjiro looked stunned at their actions, "This is what Urokodaki was talking about." 

"Their demons now. Their not weaklings. They don't need me to protect them. They can handle themselves." He told himself. A determined look spreading across his face. "So maybe they can handle this.."

"If they can protect these two, I can focus on my attack." As soon as Tanjiro moved forward, a black puddle formed underneath him. He jumped away as it grew, another one going next to (Y/N) as it leaped out and tried attacking her. She moved both her and Nezuko away. Tanjiro yelped out their names but the two just stared.

The puddle was growing as Tanjiro looked deeply at it. He stepped back so he wouldn't fall in. "You two!" Tanjiro called. They hummed and turned to him. "I'm going underground! Keep them safe for me." 

(Y/N) was nervous but didn't show it, Nezukos expression softened as Tanjiro smiled determinedly. "Can you do that?" The two grunted with a nod. Tanjiro went in as the demon was staring. He laughed and looked at Nezuko and (Y/N).  Nezuko growled while (Y/N) stood in front of the humans.

"For Tanjiro.." (Y/N) thought to herself, looking at the puddle. (Y/N)s eyes widened greatly as she charged at the demon headed for the humans. As Tanjiro jumped in the puddle, (Y/N) and Nezuko kept protecting the two while fighting. Watching the puddle slowly closing (Y/N) sweat dropped. 

Nezuko dogged a kick from the demon, while (Y/N) was panting due to tiredness. Watching the two move carefully. As the demon placed his hand down opening another puddle. (Y/N) ran in and kicked him off before the demon could jump in. 

(Y/N) went to throw a punch but was caught by the demon. As the two started going quicker, not even a minute passed until (Y/N) backed up with a massive cut on her cheek. The demon lounged forward while (Y/N) was distracted. (Y/N) got ready to be punctured in the chest. 

Lucky enough, the demons arm when flying off. "Hands off!" Tanjiro yelled. Nezuko and (Y/N) were panting as Nezuko took (Y/N) into her arms as they snuggled, both bleeding. 

"You smell horrible. You give off a scent like rotten oil!" Tanjiro said, his eyebrows furring up. He gritted his teeth and spoke, "I know where it comes from."
