"I promise!" [Tanjiro Kamado x Demon Reader]

8- Is he here?

It has been two days since Tanjiro left. Nezuko woke up on the second day. (Y/N) woke on the third day. They saw each other and hummed while hugging each other happily. Urokodaki walked in on the two hugging and smiled. Urokodaki never understood them, but was happy to have them either way.  

(Y/N) helped Urokodaki cook in the morning and evening and Nezuko helped out at night. Nezuko and (Y/N) waited for Tanjiro. Urokodaki explained to the two about what Tanjiro was doing, where he was. The two just looked at each other in worry for the boy, but knew he could do it. They gave determined hums to Urokodaki as he smiled under his mask. 

"(Y/N)?" Urokodaki asked as the demon hummed softly, turning her attention to him. "Can you help get firewood with Nezuko?" He asked, (Y/N) nodded and walked off to find Nezuko. The hashira smiled under his mask once again, looking up at the roof like it was the sky. "May he be okay." Urokodaki wished, looking down and cleaning again.

With Tanjiro

Tanjiro placed his hands on his knees, panting. But then sniffed, catching a scent. Softly grunting he looked up at the purple flowers. The birds did there calls as the red-haired boy spoke, "That's wisteria." He sighed, "I made it." He spoke again. The wisteria trees surrounding him, looking like they were glowing under the moonlight.

The sun started shining over the mountain's. The birds chirping as the slayers who passed stood in a place they were before the exam. Four people were remaining out of the twenty. "Only four of us?" Tanjiro thought looking around. "We started with over 20." Tanjiro spoke to himself in his mind.

"So he didn't make it." The whine-eyed boy spoke to himself. The boy he saved from that mutated demon. "He's gone, and it's all because I blacked out."  Tanjiro spoke out loud, looking down painfully. "I couldn't save him." Tanjiro said. "I'm gonna die." A boy spoke. Catching Tanjiros attention, the boy turned over to who was speaking.

"I'm done for." The boy said again. "I've survived for now, but, soon enough, dead." The yellow-haired male spoke, eyes wide as he was nervous. "Welcome back, everyone." The guides spoke. Tanjiro looked up to the two females. 

The two girls walked onto the platform infront of a table that was covered with a cloth. "And congratulations." The white-haired female spoke. "We're pleased to see you're safe." The black-haired female said after the white. "So? I made it back alive. What do I do now?" A boy asked loudly. "Where's my sword?" He asked again. "Patience. We must first issue you all uniforms." The guide spoke.  

"We'll start by taking your measurements. Next, your rank will be engraved in the back of your hand. For your reference, there are ten ranks in total." The black-haired female spoke again. "Kinoe." The white hair said. "Kinoto." The black hair said. "Hinoe." "Hinoto." "Tsuchinoe." "Tsuchinoto." " Kanoe." "Kanoto." "Mizunoe." "Mizunoto." 

"You all start at Mizunoto. This is the lowest rank in the demon slayer corps." 

Back with Urokodaki, Nezuko and (Y/N)!

(Y/N) began to grow worried for her lover. Nezuko also began to grow worried. The two stayed together like they've been glued. The sun started to set while the two stayed inside with Urokodaki. It soon became night fall. Suddenly, (Y/N) and Nezuko wanted to go outside. So Nezuko kicked down the door while walking out with (Y/N)..

The two holding hands, Tanjiro gasped. "Nezuko! (Y/N)! It's you! You're awake!" He yelped. Nezuko and (Y/N) turned to the boy. The two began running to him while Tanjiro tried making it over, but fell. He got up to a sitting place while the two hugged him closely. (Y/N) Under Nezuko and burrying her face into Tanjiros chest while Nezuko hugged him around his head.

Tanjiro started crying as he hugged the two back. "Why'd you do that? Why'd you have to sleep for so long? I thought you were never gonna wake up!" Tanjiro wailed. "I was afraid you both were gonna die!" Tanjiro cried. Urokodaki dropped the wood (Y/N) and Nezuko chopped. 

Walking over to the three hugging, he joined. Him also crying while (Y/N) smiled under her muzzle. "You're here." Urokodaki spoke. "You came back alive." The four were hugging while Tanjiro weeped. After everything came down, (Y/N) wouldn't leave Tanjiros side. Nezuko hummed teasingly while (Y/N) hid from Nezuko using Tanjiro.

Tanjiro laughed and Nezuko went off to sleep. Tanjiro and Urokodaki sitting down, (Y/N) laying on Tanjiros lap, looking at him. "You did it." Urokodaki said. "You were able to kill that mutated demon." He spoke to the boy. "Yes." Tanjiro said while (Y/N) lifted his hand, looking at it. 

"Then, It's over." Urokodaki said softly. "I'm truely impressed that you made it back." Urokodaki told Tanjiro. "Thanks." Tanjiro said. The fire burned while (Y/N) put Tanjiros hand on her cheek. "You should know." Urokodaki started. "There are different kinds of demons. The blood demon art is a special spell that some use to give them abilities." Urokodaki stated. "Eh?" Tanjiro gasped. 

"You may end up having to face some of them in the near future as well, and fighting against supernatural abilities will be more difficult than anything you've done. Still, Tanjiro, I have no doubt that you'll be just fine." The masked man complimented. Tanjiro gasped lightly while (Y/N) nuzzled her cheek into Tanjiros hand. 

"Right." Tanjiro spoke softly. Looking down at the (H/C) demon and caressing her cheek. "So, It seems like (Y/N) and Nezuko are a whole lot different from other demons. Do you think that's because of this bloody art thingie, then?" He asked, looking at the girl softly. (Y/N) looked at the boy.

The two locked eyes while Urokodaki spoke, "No, I think it's something else. I wouldn't call that an example of the blood demon art. This is only a guess, But I believe Nezuko and (Y/N) can recover their strengths by sleeping, instead of consuming human flesh as other demons do." 

Tanjiro and (Y/N) were in the room Nezuko was sleeping in. (Y/N) was snuggling with Tanjiro while he smiled then thought. "Don't worry, I'll protect you two." (Y/N) fell asleep snuggling with Tanjiro while Tanjiro stayed up for a bit. Then falling asleep.
