jaemin's eyes fluttered open when the dream ended. he sat up slowly and ran his fingers through his messy black hair. he squinted his eyes adjusting with the light from his room. he stood up and saw his reflection from the mirror on the wall next to the bookshelf.
he was disappointed.
he actually felt happy in the dream, too bad it ended just like that. maybe if he imagined the scene from the dream again it could calm himself down. he closed his eyes his hand grabbed a fistful of his hair— he can't remember her.
"why can't i remember?" he asked in a whisper tone almost in disbelief. he walked around his bedroom trying so hard to remember but nothing. nothing crossed his mind. he groaned and fell back to the bed face first.
who was she? is it just a random dream? it felt so real, so why can't he remember her face? what was her name again? did she introduced herself? was the questions he asked himself.
his phone rang and he reached out to it lazily. seeing the name of the caller he immediately sat up and cleared his throat. "yes boss?"
"na jaemin where are you? it's literally the working hour right now and you're not here. there's literally mess everywhere!" his shoulder flinched when the man from the other line shouted angrily.
"i'll be there as soon as possible, boss. i'm sorry for the inconvenience." he said and scrambled towards the bathroom.➷
haewon glanced the gold gucci watch she was wearing and adjusted the chic black blazer on her shoulder. she pulled the black glove and lowered the hat she wore. got out of the lift, going straight towards the room at the end of the long hallway. the hallways were white with only the red carpet and some paintings on the wall as decorations. she's questioning the design of the place.
as soon as she arrived in front of what seemed to be an entrance with a white door she knocked three times. the doors were opened from inside and she went in her head up, anyone could feel the aura she was having. she needs to show confidence when confronting the person she's meeting today. a smile was plastered on her lips as she bowed her head to show respect towards the person in the room.
a woman, to be exact. her target that'll fall in her hands.
"hello, i'm kim jiyoo and the representative of crystal corporation. with our utmost respect are keen to these new joint project" she introduced herself— of course with a fake name.
"damn, why are you so good" she heard a voice coming from the in-ear she was wearing. she maintained a big smile on her face trying not to react to the voice. renjun was the one who will be helping her with the mission.
the meeting actually went well, along with haewon's acting skills. she got some useful intel for renjun to give the hq. currently, the woman brought her to have lunch in her company's cafe.
"say, miss kim. what are your views about powerful and weak?" she suddenly asked. haewon halted from slicing the cake and lifted her gaze up to meet with the woman's eyes. it was clearly wicked and the smile she holds, it's sickening.
"the powerful are and will always be the ones in control, the one at the top. and the weak ones, we crush them" she stabbed the steak she was eating with the knife and stared her still smiling. "don't you think i'm correct, miss kim?"
haewon didn't say anything. "if there's someone in our way, we'll put an end to them" the woman continued.
"you're really compassionate about the new project, don't you, mrs bae?" haewon continued to take a bite from the cake.
"oh well, of course! i have high expectations from these project. you don't have to worry about any problems, i'll handle them for you. if there's anyone trying to sabotage this project i'll simply—""kill them?" haewon raised her brows and stared her straight in the eye. it wasn't a joke question, it was a statement knowing who the woman really was. mrs bae had her eyes widened slightly but a grin crept her lips. she laughed it off and shook her head saying she won't do that kind of stuffs— also saying she liked haewon's joke.
haewon got her.

"bring them in! make sure they're locked in a secured place!" yellings were heard. the raven haired guy just stared at the ruckus when some men entered the building and looked away not wanting to get involved with whatever they're doing.
jaemin wiped the gun and placed it back carefully. he sighed in relief knowing it was the last one. "hey, kid! bring me a cold drink" one of the men from earlier shouted and jaemin knew it was directed towards him.
he gave a small nod before sped walking towards the small pantry area. he grabbed a bottle of water from the refrigerator and went to give the man. he knew best not to let these kind of men wait.
"i see you everywhere, kid. what are you some kind of a butler?" the bald man asked as he eyed jaemin curiously. he always see jaemin going in and out of the building but doesn't really know why he's here. he's not even in the organisation— as in working as an assassin.
"it's quite complicated. but i work here when boss recruited me" was the only answer jaemin could give him. the man nodded his head and let jaemin go.
what he told was only half the truth.
