it was the dream. a dream where they can meet. where she could see him again. the only place she feel peaceful. she used to like the feeling of solitude. but meeting him was different.

a dream.

"my rose? hey, are you listening? you seemed out of it" he waved his hand in front of her face and snapped his fingers a few times. he tilted his head to the sides to have a good look of her. she blinked her eyes and lifted her eyebrows.

"sorry, i was.. thinking" haewon mumbled and plucked a rose that was somehow right beside her. she played around with the flower and the guy who was sitting in front of her just watched, with a small grin plastered on his lips. he rested his chin on his palm as his gaze went to her face.

"quit staring. i know i'm pretty" she said and looked away when she felt his stare- it felt like he was staring deep into her soul. he chuckled seeing her reaction. "you're absolutely stunning, darling" haewon's eyes widened and she quickly looked towards the guy.

"stop that" she frowned, feeling like her cheeks were burning.

"stop what?" he teased and lifted his left brow. his gaze met hers. her eyes twitched and she crossed her arms over her chest and huffed in annoyance. he laughed, she's adorable.

"i've been meaning to ask- your eye colours. is it your soulmate's?" haewon lifted her head up meeting with his orbs. "i believe it is" she said.

this man who was with her in the dream also had different eye colour. the cerulean blue eye was on his right while hers was her left. they actually compliment each other. soulmate huh?

with a guy from her dream?

"what if none of this were real? it's just a part of the dream?" she muttered under her breath. he actually heard it. he went to grab her hands and intertwined it with his. she blinked, confused with his sudden gesture.

"even if none of these is real, we could meet in your dreams. and if.. if it's real, i promise we're going to meet" he said assuring her. she didn't say anything and just plastered a smile.

"you're not real" she murmured and closed her eyes slowly drifting away from the dream's reality.

haewon pushed the glass door opened and the bell rang telling the workers there's a customer. she instantly smiled seeing the guy working behind the counter. the side of his lips tugged upwards when he saw her and gave her a small but quick wave. she did the same thing as she walked up to him.

"the usuals, but make it iced. and some chocolate waffles, please" she said and paid with her card. he noticed the look in her eyes and frowned. "haewon, are you okay?" he asked concerned laced in his tone.

"i'm fine, jeno. thanks for asking" she gave him her usual grin and went towards the seat where she always sat in the cafe. jeno just watched her and can't get rid of the feeling in his chest seeing her somewhat troubled.

haewon took one of her airpods out and played some songs from her playlist as she stared out of the glass window. "your drink" she shot her head to the voice. "thanks"

jeno stood there tilting his head to the side to get a good view of her face. she does looked different today. "jeno? do you want to sit with me or something?" she asked noticing the guy wasn't going back to the counter and just stood there by her side.

he cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck before taking a seat in front of her. she knows he will always want to sit with her and have some small talk.

"it has been a week since you last visited the cafe" he said trying not to sound so sad. her eyes widened in shock almost choked with her drink. "wait- it's already been a week?" he nodded answering her question.

"no wonder i feel like there was something missing" she murmured mostly to herself, knowing her usual schedule she needs to atleast have a drink from the cafe twice a week.
"i was busy with work, you know those stuffs. my boss gave me an annoying work last week. not to mention my coworker who was a pain in the ass"

"you looked tired, haewon. you should ask for a break" jeno said as he ran his fingers through his hair. his eyes clearly have shown concern.

"well, i didn't ask him, he gave me three days off after he knew i worked hard for the job. could've given me a week though" she said but muttered the last part to herself. as much as she hates her job, she wants the money- for personal reasons.

jeno just listened to her rambling, if it could ease her mind then so be it. he had his chin placed on top of his palm as he stared her.
"quit the staring man, your shift almost ends" he scoffed and quickly looked away when mark called him out. haewon let out a small laugh seeing his reaction.

"i need to clean up a few things. see you another day, haewon" he said, clearly disappointed that he has to go. she waved him a goodbye and also finished her drink.

as soon as haewon stepped out of the cafe, the sky turned darker. she cursed under her breath knowing she had to go through the rain. she stood right in front of the cafe, sheltering herself for the time being.

haewon stuffed her left hand inside her jacket's pocket the other one extended out to play with the rain. she can't believe she's all emotional just because of a mere dream. she felt like she had a lover, for those minutes in her dream.

haewon glanced towards the watch she's wearing. she needs to go home, it's already late. as haewon went to her car that was parked outside of the cafe. she didn't mind the rain. she just wants to go home and dream.

hoping she's gonna meet him.

her head throbbed and her vision was a bit blurry. there was something flashing through her eyes. it's like a view of the whole seoul from someone's eyes. that person was at the top of a very tall building. it was short but the view was too real.

it was raining, like what was happening right now.

once again, something flashed through her eyes and this time the view was at the edge of the building. she recognised the building and instantly step on the pedal driving quickly.

there must be a reason why those scene's flashed through her eyes. her heart was beating fast for some reason. her stomach turned— feeling uneasy.

she once again saw those same view from the top of a building. she got out of the car and ran straight into the abandoned construction building that was not far away from where she did her sniping job.

haewon doesn't know why she's scared. why she even bothered to check. why she even cared about the visions she's getting. she felt some strange sensations in her stomach as she got closer to the rooftop.

she kicked the door open, knowing it was blocked from the outside and to her horror, she saw a man standing at the edge looking straight into nothingness.

for a second, she thought he looked serene. even in the rain. her heart was beating in a fast pace. he was about to let go of the fence that he used to balance himself.

"STOP!"

"STOP!"
