"What makes you think it's okay to just leave like that? I was worried about you," my mamma says. "You weren't so worried about me the whole year, and now you are?" I'm upset. I'm upset because I now know I was lied to about my personal life, about who I actually love.
"I truly was worried about you Adele, so you're grounded," she states, which infuriates me. "You lied to me about my private life. You kept me away from Corey, even though you knew my feelings for him," I inform her of my new knowledge and walk upstairs to my room before she can say anything else. I slam the door shut and cry, not out of sadness but out of anger.
I hear a knock at my door. The doorknob twists, and Corey walks in. "I talked with her... she said she's sorry and that we cam be together if you'd like, however she'll keep a closer eye on me this time. I didn't mean to hurt you that time I swear, I wish it would've been me-" "It's called an accident because it was accidental. And I'm glad it wasn't you," I interrupt him and get up to hug him. We slowly start to kiss and one thing lead to another.
One knock. Two knocks. Three knocks at the door. "Can you open it? I don't feel like getting up right now," I mumble to Corey. He gets up and unlocks it. My mom stands there awkwardly, hesitant to say something. "This door needs to stay unlocked whenever he's over," she says to me, and I start to laugh. "No...no it does not. What needed to stay open was the door between us, but you took the door down and built a wall. That was your choice, not mine."
"Can you stay overnight? I don't want to be alone in this huge empty house tonight," I ask Corey at around 9 p.m. "I promised to go to the party with Brendan. You can come if you want too, you know. It'd be more fun if you were there," he insists on me going along, and I agree. "Okay I will, but I need some time to get ready," I say and open my closet door. Mom won't miss me, she has a night shift tonight.
