Obanai: "So, found anything?"
Shizuoka: "Well we did overhear some people talking about disappearances of some people. But other than that, not many people pay attention to what's happening."
Kaitsuki: "Most people here have more things to care about other than some missing people. This is Yagiso after all."
Tanjiro: "I couldn't find anything."
Obanai: "Same here. It's night now. The demons will strike soon. Right, the four of us are splitting up and position ourselves triangulating the city. Kamado, survey the southeast and keep a look out for demons. Kaitsuki and ice girl, you two will cover the southwest. I'll handle the north."
Kaitsuki: "Sure."
Tanjiro: "I- I mean, we got this!"
Shizuoka: "Don't call me that you prisoner." (talking about his clothes)
The four split up and went over to their respective places, expecting to encounter only two hand handful of demons each. They weren't however, prepared for what was to come.
The four surveyed the surprisingly empty and dark city. There wasn't a single human outside, nor were there any lights lighted up to brighten the city, except for the bright full moon that night. But it wasn't a shock to Obanai or Kaitsuki, since they already knew that Yagiso was a city that was known for its "Shut downs" at night.
But then, while Tanjiro was on a roof of a row of shophouses, he spotted, to his horror, several skeleton figures walking like zombies with big torches in their hands. He was puzzled, mainly because he could sense that they were in fact, demons, but also moving skeletons. Tanjiro immediately took action and charged at them, while being somewhat cautious at the same time.
He sliced their skulls off with ease. However, the skeletons did not disappear. Instead, their bones crawled around and slowly reassembled themselves. But to Tanjiro's shock again, the the bones did not piece themselves into their original skeletons, but instead stacked themselves atop each other to form a giant skeleton titan, about three and a half times taller than him. Some remaining bones even formed into a huge mallet as its weapon.
The skeleton titan tilted its head and looked down at Tanjiro, as he slowly stepped back. The skeleton giant attacked him, pushing its 100% bone mallet down, smashing the dirt ground and almost hitting Tanjiro, who had dodged the mallet.
Tanjiro: What is this thing! Could it be a giant demon that can split itself up?
Tanjiro then saw that the giant was taking a while to carry its hammer back up. Seizing the opportunity, Tanjiro hopped onto the mallet and climbed up the long handle and its arms to meet its neck. Tanjiro dashed forward and retracted his arms, before swinging his katana to deliver a slash to the giant's neck.
However, to Tanjiro's shock yet again, all that did was only for him to make a shallow cut in its neck bone. The demon skeleton giant suddenly became more aggressive. It swung to its right where Tanjiro was, but Tanjiro managed to dodge the slow incoming mallet, and smashed a small room on the second floor at the edge of a row of buildings. Luckily, to his relief, no one was occupying the room.
Tanjiro: Shit! If this goes on any longer, it's gonna harm the people soon. Heck, they might even be awake now! I need to end this now!
Tanjiro leapt towards the demon, but despite his incredible agility, he couldn't dream of reaching the neck of a giant skeleton demon. Instead, Tanjiro landed his right foot (dominant foot) on the giant skeleton's rib cage. He sent all his leg energy to his toes and jumped again high into the air and was high enough to strike. All that was left was to attack, and all that was left for the demon giant, was to hope that he would not land a strike good enough to kill it, as it stared at Tanjiro with its eyeless skull.
