Wooyoung wouldn't hurt a fly. Even if he could.
That's just how he was. Extremely kind and a heart filled with compassion but also never hesitated to stand up for himself and his loved ones. That's the quality his father couldn't tear down.Growing up, he was exposed to both the sides of parenting that contrasted heavily, shaping his heart into some sort of metal. His father's abuse adamantined his heart while his mother's warmth melted it just as easily.
He stared at his reflection in the mirror and tears welled up in his eyes.
His fingers quivered as he gently touched the long, gruesome scar above his hip bone. He squeezed his eyes shut as tears poured down endlessly in a never ending flood.
The way he wished he didn't have to remember those times in his father's room.
Those years of being beaten and abused. He wished he could just forget it all, but he couldn't. It was always etched into his mind like an endless series of scars. Every day when his heart would thump painfully hard in his chest at that sight of his father.
It was hard to forget your past when it was written all over your body.
Wooyoung's chest felt heavy and uncomfortable as his mother's smiling face flashed before his eyes. He dropped to his knees and allowed himself to be vulnerable. His sobs echoed through the empty chamber like waves crashing onto the shore, like rain pouring down from the heavens.
The truth was hurting him and the secrets were killing him again and again.

The gigantic door opened and in walked the young prince, just in time for dinner.
He walked quietly and took his seat across San. Wooyoung didn't meet anyone's eyes. He didn't have the energy to.
Wooyoung's sadness washed over Yeosang too, who's heart hurt for his friend and his prince. He gently placed a hand on his shoulder from behind him. He knew how close he was to hi mother.
Wooyoung swallowed the lump in his throat and started eating.
He didn't even know why he felt so overwhelmed right now. Just everything was crashing up on him, the secrets, his mother's absence. His own thoughts clawed up in his head and chewed at his heart.
"Wooyoung.." the empress called out softly, sensing the prince's sorrowful mood.
He looked up at her and she smiled. Her smile warm and affectionate. It reminded him of his own mother. The Empress placed a comforting hand on his wrist.
"It's going to be alright." She spoke, smiling softly. He nodded, feeling his heart being ripped to pieces as he caught a glance of the Emperor who was also beaming up at him with sympathy.
How could he ever betray them when they looked at him with fondness and such endearment.
His thoughts overwhelmed him to the point he lost his appetite and felt suffocated in front of these people.
Wooyoung got up suddenly and rushed outside before the tears could fall.
Everyone looked confused and grew worried for the young prince. Yeosang ran outside to follow Wooyoung.
San's brows were pulled down in a frown. His mind raced with all the possibilities that could provide him with a reasonable explanation of why Wooyoung reacted that way.
He wasn't unheeding. He was well aware of the younger's perturbed behavior these past few days ever since they had returned from Arcelia. He always seemed anxious and over the edge everytime he was in the same room as San.
This behavior puzzled him greatly and not that he would ever admit it out loud, but he also felt a jab of pain at his heart. Just a little. Really.
Was he really that unlikable? Did he come off as too obnoxious to the point where Wooyoung didn't even wanted to stay in the same room as him?
He shook his head, brushing these unwanted thoughts from his mind.
After thinking about it for a good minute, he told himself to stop overthinking and just do it.
So San took an empty plate and filled it with a little bit of every item on the table.
"What are you doing?" His father spoke, looking at his son putting some rice on the plate.
"I am taking this to Wooyoung. How can he just leave without even touching the food like that?" He replied.
San got up and walked outside with the plate.
His parents looked at each other with amusement.
"Do you think he's falling for him?"
"Oh, he definitely is."
