"There's been this whole in my heart
This thing was a shot in the dark
Say you'll never let 'em tear us apart
And I'll hold onto you while we run."
"Run" by Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran.

Victims- that's what everyone is. Murderers are victims of anger, bullies are sufferers of their own insecurities; nice people are preys to the vice-grip of venomous snake-like people ready to bite down on them when they're hungry, and failures in life are dead in their gluttony for sloth. Whether you're the most popular person at school, or a parent happily married, you're bound to fall into a trap of wickedness someway or another.
Like in the beginning of the world, Adam and Eve had sinned; bit off from the forbidden fruit God strictly commanded them not to. But now that the deed is done, the consequences ensue. The world never stops spinning, nor does it stop sinning. It rotates around the sun, but also tumbles down to sin. Only because two people couldn't keep their ears shut off the words against the treacherous snake that had slyly slither its way down their innermost beings.
Lynn and Lincoln: An ordinary pair of brother and sister. Seemingly innocent. But coming to terms of what's been happening lately, they'd might as well be called Lynn and Lincoln: Modern Adam and Eve. No, what they've done didn't cause unruly destruction to the whole world. It didn't shake the Earth with God's unbridled wrath. Rather, it had shaken their own little world, and the small Earth that surrounded them.
Tectonic plates, as the Scientists say, collide together and cause quakes around the ground.
And they could've been those tectonic plates too. Hearts collide, bodies in desperate need to be in sinful union; the aftershocks of what's been thru has made everything fall apart. Starting with school, next their friends, and finally: Their family.
Lincoln dropped his plate in the kitchen sink as Luan, Lucy and Lynn were washing. There was not a single hint of any sort of cheer on their faces. All lifeless, unmoving, like a mask. Numbingly washing every dirty dish handed to them. None of them spoke, nor even took notice of each other like they usually do- especially with how Lincoln rudely gave them an additional plate to wash while they're in the middle of doing so. Not even the death of their own pet turned the house this eerie.
Walking up in the stairs in a hurry, wanting to have some space of his own. In an instant, life falls apart. It can be like a mirror that you accidentally push to the ground. It breaks, it shatters, and the only way to fix it is to replace it. If only life was really a mirror. But you can't replace it, can you?
"Lincoln." As he reached the first stair, a heavy hand weighed on his shoulder.
"What is it, Lynn?"
Her dark, unblinking eyes say it all. "I need to talk to you." She hovered closer to his ear and whispered: "Meet me in the living room, 30 past twelve. Make sure everyone's asleep."
Lincoln nodded without another word. It was hopeless to attempt to even sleep anyways. Might as well spend it wisely.
"Lynn! We're not done with the dishes!" Luan yelled from the kitchen, and she was gone.
His mind can only conjure up the widest horizon of ideas on what Lynn wants to talk to him about. Especially in the living room, too.
