A/n: I hate myself rn for the trauma I've probably just put you thro. Very sorry, but what I had just wouldn't have worked. I basically had to delete a whole chapter because it didn't work or make any sense in the slightest. Feel free to use your foulest laguage at me in the comments, I won't mind. I cried writing these last chapters. Btw, this is the last true chapter, so I'm very sorry.

{{Timeskip//Loki POV}}

It's been two weeks since Ellie died, and today is her funeral. Even though there was no body for us to bury, we were still going to hold a ceremony.

I learned yesterday that her friend from school, Peter, would be attending.

About ten minutes into the ceremony, I slowly walked onto the small stage that had been set up, feeling tears already welling up in my eyes.

"Ellie was one of the nicest people I've ever met, and she never judged anybody unless they rightly deserved it. Even though I've only known her for about two or three years, I feel like I've known her forever. Ellie-"

"Ellie was the only person I've ever loved liked this, and I hope it stays that way. She was my first, and most likely my last. She once told me that she'd love me no matter what, and sometimes I wonder if that would have held true if she learned what I'd done before.

"Yes, I'm ashamed of it, but it's part of who I was. Being with her, I changed, and I don't want to become that person again, who doesn't care about anybody or anything." I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself before continuing.

"She was the light of my life, and I hoped that she knew that. What happened to her shouldn't have, and I hate myself for not saving her. Another thing she told me is that she doesn't believe in one timeline. She believed that one thing, being late for work or not doing homework could cause a butterfly effect that could change everything.

"She said that she believed the timeline theory to a certain extent, but thought we still had free will. One thing different from what was supposed to happen, and we change our destiny." I swallow, feeling my tears start to slowly slide down my face.

"Looking back at that, I think she's right. I keep thinking of what would have happened if I hadn't cast my illusion and freaked out the person holding the gun to her head. I wish I could go back and save her, but maybe this was what was supposed to happen.

"Even though we may hate it, we live with it, because what else are we supposed to do? I just hope that Ellie knows I'm sorry, and I'll always love her more than anybody else. She was my first love, and the woman who changed me, and I'll always be grateful to her for that." I stop, feeling my throat closing up with sobs.

I walk off the small stage, wiping my eyes, even though the tears are quickly replaced.

After several more people said a few words, we slowly made our way to where the row of paper lanterns were sitting on a table. Everybody grabs a lantern, and uses a lighter, even me. I can't even summon my magic, I'm so emotionally drained.

The only thing I can feel is sadness, and guilt. It was my fault Ellie was gone.

I release my lantern, and watch it lift into the sky, slowly drifting with the breeze. I watch everybody do the same, tears on all our faces, even Lady Natasha's.

I feel a breeze by my shoulder, and hear a few soft words that make me shiver.

    "Don't cry, Loki. I don't blame you."

I bow my head, squeezing my eyes shut as I feel another breeze, and the warmth is blown away.

"Merry Christmas, darling." I whisper, and let the tears roll down my face freely.

Another A/n: and I just read this over again. And cried again. Pls send help.
